In BO6 Zombies “The Tomb,” shovels unlock the most coveted loot. The map is covered with four scattered shovels, each one allowing a player to dig up rewards such as armour, equipment, perk cans, and even weapons from specific mounds. This guide goes through the locations of each shovel, providing advice on how best to use them to maximize survival chances.
All Shovel Locations on The Tomb
In The Tomb, you will find four shovels, located throughout the map. Each player, in a full squad, can only carry one shovel. To pick up the shovel, simply walk up to it and hold the interact button when prompted. You can use these shovels to dig. Just interact with the mounds when you have a shovel, and you will dig up some loot. The rewards can include Armor, Equipment, and if you are lucky, free Perk Cans or weapons. These mounds respawn after a few rounds, so be sure to check back periodically for a new set of rewards.
The First Shovel Location
For the second shovel, head to the Ossuary, located at the southern end of the map. You will find this shovel on a pile of skulls in the passageway that connects the room to the furnace and the area with the XM4 Wall Buy.
The Second Shovel Location
For the second shovel, head to the waterfall in the middle of the Subterranean Temple and Deep Excavation area. You will find this shovel to the left of the archway.
The Third Shovel Location
The first shovel is located in the Tombs, in the northwest corner of the map, between the Dig Site spawn room and the Shrine of the Hierophants. To find it, climb onto the destroyed pillar next to the staircase.
The Fourth Shovel Location
For the second shovel, head to Deep Excavation, located in the far east of the map. You will find this shovel to the right of the Quick Revive machine.
Tips
- Since there’s only one shovel per player, make sure everyone knows where the shovels are located and which one they plan to grab. This will help avoid unnecessary running around and ensure everyone gets their hands on one.
- The piles of bones and dirt will restock some after several rounds so be sure to come back to the area for replenished loot. Consistent digging will increase your probability of useful items, such as Armor and Perk Cans.
- If you are low on health or equipment, focus on digging in areas near where you’ll need the most resources, such as near a Quick Revive machine or high-traffic zones where you might need extra armour.
- Be mindful of your surroundings while digging. Since you’re vulnerable when interacting with the mounds, always be prepared to defend yourself from zombies or other threats while you’re busy collecting loot.
- Keep track of what rewards you have already uncovered to maximize your loot potential, especially if you are aiming for free weapons or Perk Cans.
- If you are struggling to find one, refer back to the specific shovel locations on the map and plan your route accordingly to avoid wasting time searching blindly.
