The quirky Secret Theater returns in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. It is a feature, like in the original, designed to reward players who explore thoroughly by giving them secret cutscenes. These Secret Theater reels are spread in several locations and give a comical spin to the game’s events.
While some scenes reference familiar moments, the surprises are best discovered firsthand. You’ll have to use a mix of stealth and sharp observation to find all the reels and appreciate the additional humor and creativity it brings. Below is a full guide to assist you in finding all the Secret Theater film reels in the game.
All Secret Theater Film Reel Locations
In total there are 15 Secret Theater reels scattered throughout the game. To retrieve any of the reels you must sneak up on a specific guard carrying the reel. Each location comes with just one such guard, and if you take them down in the incorrect manner you will destroy the reel forever (unless you reload an old save).
Bolshaya Past South

The gap in the electric fence is watched by two soldiers, the one you’ll find on the west holds the 8mm “Get Down!” reel. You can sneak up from behind and take out the east guard first, then hold him up.
Dremuchij North

As soon as you enter Dremuchij North, take down the first soldier equipped with a chest radio, he carries the 8mm reel titled “The Beginning is the End”.
Ponizovje West

Once The Pain is defeated, you can visit this optional riverside area to grab the “Cat-Like Behavior” reel. A nearby SVD can also be used to take down The End before the usual encounter.
Ponizovje Warehouse

On your first visit, a soldier from the building’s third floor holds the reel. First, you’ll need to clear the first-floor guards, wait for his back to be turned then collect the “Quick Version” film.
Dolinovodno

While crossing the bridge, keep an eye on the patrolling duo. Focus on the guard carrying a silver film “Gotcha This Time” container on his chest, once they part ways in the midpoint you can deal with them individually.
Bolshaya Past Base

A soldier at the central building entrance holds the 8mm reel. Enter from the east, exit south, and you will be in the CQC range to take him down and get the “Payback” film.
Graniny Gorki Lab Exterior

To collect “The Joy,” disable the dog and the two guards patrolling the area, then tap on the door to lure out the guard holding the reel.
Zaozyorje East

This one’s tricky since a normal hold up won’t work. You’ll need to lift the soldier’s arm and shoot near his feet to scare him, forcing him to drop the “Metal Gear Raiden: Snake Eraser” reel.
Groznyj Grad Torture Room

Inside the guard room, you’ll find one soldier carrying the film “Basashi.” Take out the hallway guard first then deal with the man in the small room to obtain the film.
Krasnogorje Mountaintop

Following your rendezvous with EVA in the ruins, a flame trooper near the western AA holds the film “The Ultimate Weapon,” you’ll need to approach this trooper to get your hands on the film.
Svyatogornyj East

A guard in the northeastern house carries the film “Metal Gear S…” You’ll need to slip inside through any entrance to grab this reel.
Groznyj Grad Weapons Lab (Main Wing)

In the room’s northern area, near the trucks, a guard holds the film “He’s Still Got It”. It’s best to use the Maintenance uniform here.
Groznyj Grad Northeast

The “Close Call” reel appears only during a daytime return to Groznyj Grad. You’ll have to take out the watchtower guard and three trainees to get the reel.
Krasnogorje Mountain Base

The RPG soldier on the eastern cliff holds the film. Clear nearby guards, lure him down with a book, then hold him up to get the Diehard reel.
Groznyj Grad Weapons Lab (West Wing)

In the west wing corridor, knock out the left guard to distract the right then hold him to grab the “Made in the U.S.A Film”. Avoid the Officer uniform here or the reel will be missed.
If you’re unsure which guard carries a reel, save your game first, then carefully scout the area. The guard whose reel is destroyed with a distinct sound marks your target. Approach them stealthily to collect the reel safely.
Once picked up, reels remain unlocked permanently across playthroughs. While not needed for trophies, they offer extra humor and hidden surprises, making exploration more rewarding.
