Modifiers in Prospecting

While digging, there’s a chance you’ll uncover minerals that aren’t ordinary, they come with unique modifiers that enhance their base price. These special traits significantly boost how much money you earn when selling them. The rarer the trait, the more valuable the mineral becomes. Below is a list of all currently discovered modifiers and their bonus multipliers:

  • Glowing – Offers a 60% boost in selling price.
  • Scorching – Worth double its standard value.
  • Irradiated – Gives a 2.5x return.
  • Shiny – Sells for 1.2 times the usual price.
  • Iridescent – Multiplies its price by 3.5.
  • Pure – Increases base value by 35%.

Luck in Prospecting

In Prospecting, each time you unearth a mineral or ore, the game secretly rolls a number to determine its rarity—the lower the number, the rarer the item. Luck increases your chances by allowing multiple rolls per item, keeping the best (lowest) result. For instance, with 4 Luck, the game might roll (4, 2, 3, 4) and choose 2, giving you a better rarity. So, more Luck means better odds of finding rarer materials, though it doesn’t guarantee them.

To keep things balanced, Luck can sometimes be ignored or reduced on individual rolls, especially to ensure common items still appear. This is why even with high Luck, you might still get a few basic finds. In short, Luck boosts your chances of rare minerals but doesn’t eliminate randomness, you can still have good or bad runs regardless of your stat level.

To increase your chances of finding rare minerals and ores in Prospecting, focus on boosting your Luck stat. Use high-Luck pans, apply enchants like Lucky (+5) or Blessed (+10), and craft gear that adds to your Luck. Time-based Luck potions also help, activating instantly upon purchase, so be prepared before using them.

Other boosts include placing a Luck Totem nearby for a temporary 2x Luck effect and playing with friends for a small Luck bonus per teammate. You can also redeem promo codes that grant Luck boosts. Note: code-based bonuses stack by value, not time, two 30-minute +10 Luck codes give you +20 Luck for 30 minutes.
