All Mystery Solutions for the Super Sleuth Trophy – Hell Is Us

If you are hunting down every Mystery in Hell is Us to unlock the Super Sleuth Trophy, you are in the right place. Mysteries are like mini side quests that often involve puzzles, hidden notes, or secret areas. They don’t always give clear hints, so it can be tricky to figure them out on your own. But solving them is worth it, since each one rewards you with powerful gear, rare items, or lore that makes your journey easier. This guide breaks down all Mystery solutions across every region so you can clear them all without missing a thing.

Hell Is Us All Mystery Solutions

In Hell is Us, Mysteries are like little side adventures that give you useful rewards. Think of them as optional quests where you can get powerful loot. Most of the time, they come with tricky puzzles or very few hints, so you will need to figure things out on your own.

You usually trigger a Mystery by picking up special notes or exploration items. These can lead you to hidden treasures, rare items, or secret locations. Sometimes, instead of a Mystery, these notes might start a Good Deed quest instead.

Finishing a Mystery is always worth it since you will get gear and items that make your journey easier. And if you are aiming for trophies, solving every single Mystery in the game will unlock the Super-Sleuth achievement.

SENEDRA FOREST

The Senedra Forest is within the Hell Is Us, which is part of the war-torn landscape of an isolated country where the player, Rémi, explores to uncover the secrets of his past and understand a mysterious calamity. The forest is home to supernatural creatures, called “Hollow Walkers,” and contains secrets and puzzles.

Caddell Family Treasure

When you head into Senedra Forest, one of the first Mysteries you can stumble across is the Caddell Family Treasure. To get there, follow the sloping path near the ruins and pay attention to the coloured cairns, the little piles of stones along the way. You will eventually pick up a Rusted Key from the red rocks.

Keep going until you find a small campsite with a tent. From there, look for a ridge that lets you drop down into an area marked by blue cairns. Inside, you will uncover the treasure, which holds a defensive bracelet called Ecstasy Wanton Destruction, as well as a note about the Caddell treasure.

Secrets Of The Ram

Once you pass through, the first sigil you need is in the very next room.

The second is outside, close to the path leading back to the APC. Solve the puzzle and you will be rewarded with the Glyph: Recoil and a note called Queen’s Decree.

Lymbic Door – Senedra, Hilltop

First, get the Lymbic Rod – Grief Z from the Vigil Hideout in Dyssa Hills. The main story will lead you there. Next, get the Lymbic Rod – Grief V from the mines in Dyssa Hills. Inside the mines, you will find it on the right side. You will get the mine key as part of the story in Act 2. Finally, use the rods you’ve collected to open the door in Senedra Forest.

Lymbic Door – Senedra, Underground

You’ll start by going to Talju to find the House Keys. After that, use those keys to open a house in Talju and grab the Lymbic Rod – Rage, Z. While you’re there, don’t forget to also get the Flame Symbol. Once you have those items, your next stop is Marastan to pick up the other rod, the Lymbic Rod – Rage, Y. With all of these collected, head to Senedara Forest. You’ll use the Flame Symbol to open a door and then use both of the Lymbic Rods to open the final door.

Emergency Stash

In the Emergency Stash Mystery, you will come to a massive bone pit. Look for a ladder leading up to a key, then backtrack and use it to open a chest sitting on a walkway above the bones. This chest rewards you with five Steady Tuning Stones.

Righteous Protection

After you solve the dungeon’s main puzzle, you will climb a long staircase. About halfway up, you will see a hole in the stairs. Drop down through it to fight some enemies and grab a key. Later, once you defeat the boss and claim the Keystone of Terror, you will be able to explore the opposite side of the tower. The key unlocks a chest waiting in the final chamber, and inside you will find the Bracelet of Terror Shadowstep.

ACASA MARSHES

Acasa Marshes is over on the eastern side of the map. If you start from Jova Village, head through the swamps and keep going until you reach a highway. Just before the tunnel with the red lights, that’s where the Hermit will be.

The Hermit

To start the Hermit Mystery in Hell Is Us, you will need to talk to the Hermit NPC out in the Acasa Marshes. He will mention that he’s looking for a new Zoom Lens for his camera, though the game won’t give you any hints about where to find one. Before you leave, make sure to check out the pictures on the board outside his hut. You will notice more will appear later on.

You will be able to find the Zoom Lens once you reach Act 2 of the campaign and unlock the city of Talju. From there, head through the archway at the back of the APC and follow the streets behind the Town Hall. Keep going until you spot a spider-like Hollow. Just past it, near a burning building and an ON truck, you will find the lens.

Bring the Zoom Lens back to the Hermit, and he will mutter something about needing more close-ups and patterns, then tell you to return later. When you do come back after some time, you will see new photos pinned to his board. The most interesting one shows an obelisk with four strange symbols, which leads directly into the next part of the quest.

Not far from the Hermit’s hut, you will come across the Obelisk Puzzle. The area is filled with enemies, so clear them out first. Then take a closer look at the stone face and the markings on the ground. The photo gives away the solution. The symbol at the top is shaped like an arrow, and you will see that same marking on the ground. You will need to rotate the plinths so that each side matches the symbols shown in the photo.

Once everything is lined up correctly, a container will appear in the centre. Inside, you will find your rewards: five Steady Tuning Stones, the Feed on Fear (Enhanced) and Perfect Guard (Enhanced) glyphs, along with Aarlon’s Last Stand passive relic. That marks the end of the Hermit Mystery, and it’s definitely worth the effort for the loot you get.

The Captain’s Office

The Captain’s Office is easy to spot once you enter Jova Village; it’s the building with the flag outside and soldiers keeping watch. The roof and attic have collapsed, but you can still climb up the ladder inside to grab a couple of consumables.

If you want to actually get inside, though, you will need the help of a drunk guard sitting on a picnic bench in the yard. He’s not going to budge unless you bring him some alcohol. Your first stop is at the centre of the village, near the well. Look for a house with “Death to Sabs” graffiti on the wall. Go in through the second-floor doorway, and you will find a Nearly Empty Bottle of Mead in the fridge. Unfortunately, it’s not enough to win him over.

The real solution comes later, once you reach Act 2 of the campaign. By this point, most of the soldiers will have moved out of Jova, and a few familiar NPCs, including Abbot Jaffer and Rebecca, will have settled by Lake Cynon. Visit Abbot Jaffer’s house on the edge of the meadow, and you will find a Full Bottle of Mead sitting next to him. Take it back to the guard in Jova, and he will be thrilled enough to hand over the Jova Office Key.

With the key in hand, climb up the ladder inside the office ruins, cross to the other side of the broken attic, and drop down onto the balcony ledge. From there, you can unlock the door and finally explore inside. The Captain’s Office is worth the trouble, as it contains some useful rewards: Vaas’ Plan, the Prison Manifest, the Collar of Grief – Bargaining, and the Sabinian Cap.

Observation Outpost 08

Observation Outpost 08 can be found to the east of Jova Village in the Acasa Marshes. Once you leave the village and head across the swamps, you will notice a lone base in the distance. The gate, however, is locked tight, so you won’t be able to get inside right away. You will need to keep playing until the right moment comes along.

A few hours later, following your collection of the second Keystone in Act 2, that moment occurs. The next time you fast-travel, the enigmatic woman will show up and start talking to you in a cutscene. She will mention that there’s a hidden container under the passenger seat of your APC. If you check it, you will find the APC Code Sheet along with the Entropic Field Drone Module.

She also gives you a hint, saying: “The code for today is 14.” With that in mind, open the APC Code Sheet and look for the 14th entry in the sequence, which is 1-5-1-9-9-1. Enter this number at the keypad by the outpost gate, and the base will finally open up to you.

Martial Lineage

Travel across the swamp from Jova Village to a hilltop topped with enormous stone monoliths. There are four glowing pillars in a clearing on the far side. To solve the puzzle, strike the eastern pillar first and then hit the others going counter-clockwise.

Doing this rewards you with the Lymbic Greatsword, a brooch called Terror – Dreadful Weave, a Rage Suppressor consumable, a Wrapped Candle for research, and a letter titled Proud Father. If you look closely, you will notice sconces on the wall here; these are part of a larger Enlightenment Puzzle.

The Protector

You won’t be able to finish this until Act 2, when Pathem Abbey becomes accessible. Deep in the abbey, destroy the Timeloop to get the Golden Clover. Take it back to the southern edge of Jova Village and place it in the indentation on a tomb. Doing so rewards you with The Bloodseeker relic and a scroll that reads like a heartfelt eulogy.

Enlightenment

To start, you need to activate the left switch in the tower in Acasa Marshes. Then, use the code 15891 to enter the outpost in Acasa Marshes and activate both switches inside.

Then, in the training grounds, turn on the left switch by striking the pillars counter-clockwise, beginning in the northeast. You can turn on the appropriate switch in the Acasa Marshes abbey in Act 2. Lastly, in the Acasa Marshes subterranean section, turn on the left switch. After that, the underground entrance will open, allowing you to solve the riddle.

Lymbic Chest – Acasa, Vitalis’s Basement

Start by talking to Victor in the tunnel in Acasa Marshes to get the house key. Use the key to open the house in Acasa Marshes. Then, use the code 32713 to get into the basement and grab the Lymbic Rod – Grief W. Next, get the Lymbic Rod – Grief Y from the blacksmith’s. Finally, use the rods you’ve collected to open the chest in the basement.

Lymbic Door – Acasa, Western Monument

First, find two Neutral rods in Acasa Marshes:

1. The Lymbic Rod – Neutral Z from the underground area.

2. The Lymbic Rod – Neutral X from the main area.

Once you have both rods, use them to open the door in the Western Tower in Acasa Marshes.

Lymbic Chest – Acasa, Eastern Ruins

First, get the Lymbic Rod – Terror Z from the abbey in Acasa Marshes. This will become available during Act 2. Once you have the rod, use it to open the chest in Acasa Marshes.

VYSSA HILLS

The Vyssa Hills in Hell Is Us feel completely different from the areas you’ve seen before. There are no villages or towns here, just open hills, winding snake-like statues, and wide stretches of grassy slopes.

Lymbic Chest – Vyssa Hills, Fort

To finish the “Lymbic Chest – Dyssa Hills, Fort” mystery, you will need the Lymbic Rod – Ecstasy Z. You can find it near the Francis’ Church Timeloop in Dyssa Hills. Once you have the rod, use it to open the chest.

Lucky Break

While exploring the mines, check the skeletons carefully, one of them is holding a Rusted Key. That key is meant for a chest hidden in the small ruins up on a ridge close to the waterfalls. Inside, you will find the Lymbic Polearm and a curious research item known as the Flower Medallion.

Eternity

First, get the clue from the mines in Dyssa Hills. You will need the mine key you got in Act 2 to access the area. Then, use the code 241244 to get into the PC and finish the mystery.

Pilgrimage

You will discover an Exodus Note and a barrel key among the remains of a stone house. That key will be used at the Serpent Door back in Vyssa Hills. You will also be able to open the chest and retrieve your rewards: the Glyph Lymbic Slivers – Enhanced, and a number of Steady Tuning Stones in the open plains where you pick up the Token of the Palm.

LAKE CYNON

Lake Cynon is the fourth area you will visit in the game. To unlock it, you first need to solve the Watcher’s Nest Puzzle in the Vyssa Hills. Once you grab the quest item and speak with an NPC named Gildas Brom, he will point you toward Lake Cynon as your next stop. From there, you are free to head in and start exploring.

Lymbic Chest – Lake Cynon, Reservoir

First, go to Acasa Marshes to get two Neutral rods:

  • Lymbic Rod – Neutral W (open the outpost with code 15891)
  • Lymbic Rod – Neutral Y

After you have both rods, use them to open the chest in Lake Cynon.

Lost Keys

When you arrive, you will notice a glowing note lying around the Lost Keys Note. From there, you need to solve the Lake Cynon Puzzle to drain the pool. Once the reservoir is exposed, you can pick up the Algae Key. Later, in Marastan, you will find Samo’s General Store. Out back, use the Algae Key to unlock a container, and your prize is a cap infused with the power of Terror.

Safekeeping

Until Abbot Jaffer and Rebecca move to Lake Cynon, you will have to advance. Once they arrive, look for the Rustic Key near their home on the meadow’s edge. This opens a secret passageway across from the side door of Pathem Abbey. You will find The Panoptic Eudemon and a letter called Safekeeping inside.

Lymbic Door – Lymbic Forge

First, collect all three Terror rods from the area in Lake Cyron where you find the switch that lowers the water:

  • Terror V
  • Terror X
  • Terror W

After you have all of the rods, use them to open the door in the same area.

Lymbic Chest – Lymbic Forge, Hall

First, get the Lymbic Rod – Rage V from the area in Lake Cyron where you find the switch that lowers the water. Once you have the rod, you can use it to open the chest in the same area.

Lymbic Chest – Lymbic Forge, Dormitory

Start by getting the Lymbic Rod – Neutral V from the area in Lake Cyron that has the switch to lower the water. Once you have the rod, use it to open the chest located in the same area.

TALJU

Talju is a location within the game Hell is Us that serves as a setting for various quests, key item discoveries, and interactions with non-player characters. It is one of several regions in the fictional country of Hadea, which is ravaged by civil war and an event called the “Calamity”.

The Hideout

With Agatha’s discovery, you can continue a plot that started in Vyssa Hills. It turns out that the house opposite from the pharmacy in Talju was her secret hiding place. Use the serial number from her ID, 3-4-9-1-1, to open the safe within. Agatha’s Diary and the Idol of Rage Condempt can be found within.

History Lesson

In Hell Is Us, the History Lesson quest starts after you find some of Lukhan Fran’s possessions. They are located on the playground close to the raised plaza where the enormous burning tree is. You can obtain Lukhan’s ethnic ID card and the Talju House Key here.

Your next step is to track down Caspian Fran’s home. The quickest way is to head back to the starting area where your APC is parked. From there, go to the nearby parking lot and follow the steps that lead up to the railroad tracks. Keep walking along the tracks until you come across a house with Caspian Fran’s name written right on the mailbox.

Caspian’s office can be accessed by unlocking the basement door using the Talju House Key. It contains a variety of documents, correspondence, and recordings. A few of these provide helpful hints: According to one letter, Caspian’s safe was thrown away by the Lethe National Library, another states that the Lymbic Rod Rage Z can unlock a unique Lymbic Door for the Forlorn Fate quest, and a computer file shows that the passcode for the safe is linked to Lukhan’s ID.

Proceed to the Lethe National Library to continue. The safe is located next to a shed outside the parking lot gate; you don’t need to enter. The final five digits of the serial number are the code you require if you look for Lukhan Fran’s ID: 8-1-6-4-3. A paper, Caspian’s Mask, and an Amine Prism Rho that is used to stop Timeloops are among the goodies you will receive when you open the safe.

Supply Chain

The Supply Chain Mystery kicks off once you reach Talju, which becomes available in Act 2 while you are hunting for the Keystones. As you explore the area, you will notice a strange tree that looks like it’s on fire. Right beside it is a bridge with a body hanging over it and a collectable (a yellow orb) resting there.

If you head near the pharmacy, you will find the Town Hall just off to the left. Inside, you will meet an NPC named Caspian. He asks you to help track down his son, Lukhan. Once you locate Lukhan and report back, Caspian gives you a walkie-talkie to deliver to him.

Caspian then has another task for you: clear out the car park behind the pharmacy. He hands you a key to get in, and once you’ve dealt with the enemies there, return to him to finish up this part of the quest. Completing it will finally give you access to the pharmacy.

On the left side of the drugstore is a computer. You will need a five-digit code in order to log in. The diary called Crazy Week, which is located elsewhere in Talju, has the clue for this problem. Proceed through the archway from the APC, then bear right beyond the pharmacy. Climb the stairs along the wall, and near the train station, you will come across another collectible (yellow orb) on a body.

The diary talks about a broken clock, which is the hint you need. If you look closely, you will see the clock’s large hand stuck between the 1 and 2, and the small hand frozen between the 9 and 10. Put those numbers together, and you get the code: 91012. Enter it into the computer, and that completes the Supply Chain Mystery.

MARASTAN

Marastan is a significant location in Hell is Us, featuring several main story puzzles, “Good Deeds” side quests, and “Vaults of Forbidden Knowledge”. The city is visited during Act 2 of the campaign after completing main objectives in Talju, with the primary goal being to solve the Blood Queen Puzzles.

Ill-Gotten Gains

First, get the key from the cave in Marastan. Then, go to the crypt and solve the eagle puzzle by making sure all the eagle statues are facing east. This will open the gate inside the crypt.

Lymbic Chest – Marastan, Ruins

To start, you need to get the Lymbic Rod – Terror V from the crypt in Marastan. To open the crypt, make sure all of the eagle statues are facing east. Once you have the rod, you can use it to open the Lymbic Chest in Marastan.

Locked Down

Head to the clearing by the river, where you will find a newspaper article full of sports scores. This is actually the clue you need. Go back to the APC and run to the far end of the highway, away from the town. There’s a computer there that unlocks with the code 4-1-3-2. The reward is a simple but telling email called First Day Logbook.

LETHE – NATIONAL LIBRARY

The National Library of Lethe is a crucial location in Hell Is Us, serving as a hub for main quests, side quests, and the discovery of important items. It is where players can find information about the Keystone of Ecstasy and complete several other objectives.

The Conspiracy

To solve “The Conspiracy” mystery, you will need to enter the code 731596 to get into the PC at the Lethe-National Library. You can find this code by gathering all the small notes scattered throughout the game.

Suspicious Activity

In Embry Hall, just beneath the Computer Room, you will find an email that gives you the passcode 5-0-5-5. Use this on the keypad outside the second-floor room to grab a set of car keys. Back in the parking lot, unlock the trunk of the car parked near the gate. Inside, you will find a cap called Ecstasy and a pottery fragment for research.

LETHE – MINISTRY OF CULTURAL PRIMACY

The Lethe Ministry of Cultural Primacy is an indoor location and generally smaller than other regions in the game. Players will initially arrive at the parking lot and need to climb to the top floor to begin their investigation. This location is considered an important area for collecting Keystones and is recommended to be visited early in Act 2 to avoid backtracking.

Blackmailed

It’s split into two parts. The first part takes place inside the Ministry itself. Search one of the rooms to find Ahiji Evans, who has a set of Ministry Car Keys. Use them to open a car trunk in the basement and claim the Lymbic Rod – Ecstasy X. Then, head back to the lower offices to grab its twin, the Lymbic Rod – Ecstasy Y.

Part 2 plays out in the Lymbic Forge at Lake Cynon. Once you’ve got both rods, head inside and look for a side room with steps leading to a sealed Lymbic Door. Use the rods to open it, and you will claim the Twin Axes of Rage, an enhanced version of the Recoil Glyph, and a research item called the Bowl of Ash.

PLAINS OF MIST

In Hell Is Us, the Plains of Mist is a difficult late-game area where players must advance by figuring out numerous puzzles and avoiding lethal traps. It serves as both the backdrop for the “Keystone of Ecstasy” inquiry and a major plot point.

Overgrown

Near the pillar marked with a sword symbol, you will find the Mossy Key. Take it across the map to the area where a Hollow is pelting you with projectiles, and drop down a hole in the ground. The Mossy Key unlocks a chest here, containing the Idol of Ecstasy – Battle Stance.

Lymbic Chest – Temple Of The Fallen

To complete this part of the quest, you will first need to collect two Limbic Rods of Ecstasy from the Plains of Mist one marked with V and the other with W. Once you have both rods, head back to the Plains of Mist and look for the Limbic Chest. You will find it right along the main path, in clear view, just before the final room where you pick up the Keystone. Use the rods to unlock the chest and claim your reward.

Acetic Vows

After finishing the second Plains of Mist Puzzle, you will notice you can now scan a set of pillars tied to sacraments. At the edge of this section, you will discover a key that opens a nearby trove. Inside are some fascinating finds: a skull in a box, journals belonging to Lady Sophia and Francis, and a missive called Queen’s Envoy.

JELJIN

Jeljin is a significant zone in Hell Is Us, appearing during the second act of the campaign. This area is crucial for obtaining the Keystone of Rage and features multiple puzzles, including the Crypt Statues Puzzle, the Family First Dial Puzzle, and a Vault of Forbidden Knowledge.

Family First

To finish the “Family First” Mystery in Jeljin, you will need to open a special dial door. The correct sequence is Crown → Flower → Lion → Sheep. Once you enter that order, the door will unlock and you can move forward.

Lymbic Chest – Jeljin, Archeology Camp

First, you will need to track down the Lymbic Rod – Rage, V. You can find this one in Lethe, inside the National Library. Once that’s secured, your next stop is Jeljin, where you will have to pick up the Lymbic Rod – Rage, X. After you’ve collected both rods, head back to Jeljin. There, you can finally use them together to unlock the Lymbic Chest and claim what’s inside.

AURIGA MUSEUM

The Auriga Museum is a significant location in Hell Is Us, playing a crucial role in the main story and housing various puzzles, quests, and collectibles. Access to the museum is granted after completing main quest objectives in Jeljin and Lethe Ministry of Cultural Primacy, and by inserting two Iron Seals at its entrance.

Great Responsibility

Take the elevator up to a storeroom and retrieve the Iron Crown Symbol after defeating the boss and gathering the Keystone of Terror. This fits into the crest near the rotating Hollow sculptures by the museum entrance. A ceremonial key, five Steady Tuning Stones, and the Polearm of Rage are your prizes for doing this.

Lymbic Chest – Lymbic Forge, Waterfall

You must first obtain the Lymbic Rod (Grief, X). It is located in the area of the Auriga Museum that you visit immediately following your exploration of the Timeloop, which is relevant to the plot. After obtaining the rod, proceed to Lake Cynon. In the same room where the Keystones are placed in the main story, there is a special box. Unlock that chest with the rod to get your prize.

Lax Security

Lax Security, the second, is a little more recent. A computer in the building’s B3 area contains an email containing the new code, 7-7-7-7-7. You can find a Drone Module: Distract – Elite by entering that code into the Timeloop control room on B1 and opening the safe.

Whistleblowers

To complete the “Whistleblowers” Mystery in the Auriga Museum, head down to level B2. There’s a hidden laptop there, and you will need to enter the code 051108 to unlock it.
