For those who desire a thorough clear-out of the Continent rather than just a mere crossing through it; monster nests shouldn’t be ignored during your travels. They can sometimes be time-consuming, particularly in the Velen and the DLC regions though. This guide breaks down the various locations of monster nests as players are likely to travel through those areas naturally over time. Bring bombs, expect resistance, and treat each region as its own cleanup job rather than a quick side task.
White Orchard

White Orchard introduces monster nests gently, though they aren’t hard to miss.
Near Cackler Bridge, in the war-torn stretch of land nearby, two Ghoul nests sit relatively close together. One is positioned near the bridge itself, close to a Quen Place of Power, while the other lies closer to the Crossroads sign.
There’s one more Ghoul nest tied to the Griffin hunt. It’s easy to overlook, tucked northwest near an Aard Place of Power in the area where the main quest sends you.
Novigrad Outskirts

Inside Novigrad’s city walls, monster nests are nonexistent. That changes once you step into the outskirts.
At Grassy Knoll, near Drahim Castle, you’ll run into a Rotfiend nest watched over by a Devourer. Further along toward Ursten, two Endrega Warrior nests appear. These also contain Endrega Workers, and their strong defenses can drag the fight out if you’re under-equipped.
Velen

Once you reach Velen, monster nests become much more frequent.
Around Crow’s Perch, a single Ghoul nest is located in the southeastern section of the region, near the Burned Ruins and not far from the Cockatrice Lair dungeon.
Mudplough is home to your first Rotfiend nest, which also includes a Devourer. It’s located on the small northeastern island and happens to be worth the trouble thanks to a couple of chests nearby.
Grayrocks has multiple clusters. In the north, one nest sits on an isolated island near Hindhold and is guarded by Harpies and an Erynia. Another Rotfiend nest appears slightly south within the same northern area. Farther southeast, the region becomes crowded with nests, mostly Ghouls and Alghouls. The only exception is a Nekker Warrior nest near Codgers’ Quarry. Around the Ferry Station, there are five nests packed into a surprisingly tight space.
The Descent area near Benek is more dangerous. Heading east, two Wyvern nests can be found near The Grotto, each protected by a Royal Wyvern. The same general area also contains four Nekker nests. Three surround the village of Toderas, while the fourth is near Benek itself, identifiable by the large windmill.
The Mire is far less dense, but still worth checking carefully. The northern stretch near Boatmakers’ Hut contains a Ghoul and Alghoul nest. Despite appearances, Fyke Isle itself has none. In the southern swamp, close to Olena’s Grove, a Drowner nest appears, accompanied by a Drowned Dead.
Over in Crookback Bog, one Drowner nest lies in the western section, near the area where you meet the local orphans. A Drowned Dead guards this one as well.
Skellige Isles

Skellige doesn’t have many nests overall, but those it does have are scattered across multiple islands.
On Kaer Trolde, two nests are located in the southern part of the region near the Crossroads. One contains Drowners and a Drowned Dead, while the other is filled with Sirens and an Ekhidna.
In Ofrithrdarl, south of Fyresdal, a Harpy nest sits just outside the village. It’s close to both the Thieves’ Camp and the Old Fort. The surrounding area is busy with Sirens and Ekhidnas, so approaching carefully helps.
Staying in Fyresdal, another Siren and Ekhidna nest can be found near the Ruined Inn. The location stands out and has plenty worth exploring nearby.
Rannvaig offers a Drowner nest with an added complication: Mucknixers. The nest is positioned close to an abandoned site and a merchant and is easily identified once you reach the village.
On An Skellig, the Bay of Winds is where you’ll want to look. A Harpy nest sits near the shoreline, close to the signpost.
Toussaint

The final set of monster nests appears on the Toussaint map.
Near Basane Farm, there’s a Draconid nest. Closer to Dun Tynne Castle, you’ll find a Kikimore nest, though a monster den must be cleared first.
Another nest can be spotted near Count de la Croix’s Mill, this one filled with Archespores. Farther south, around Mère-Lachaiselongue Cemetery and near the Francollarts signpost, two Giant Centipede nests sit close to each other.
One last nest remains to the west, guarded by Harpies and positioned close to the Rioux-Cannes Outpost.
