Octopath Traveller 0 features Letter Fragments that are a major component for discovering hidden progression in the game. With five Letter Fragments scattered throughout the game, the easiest way to find them is to know their exact location. This guide lists all the locations of each Letter Fragment, explaining when each becomes available and what you need to collect them efficiently.
All Letter Fragment Locations
Tracking down all Letter Fragments in Octopath Traveler 0 can be tricky, but here’s a clear breakdown of where to find each one and how to collect them.
1. Wishvale
The very first fragment becomes accessible immediately if you select the fragment as one of your initial three items. Otherwise, you will need to wait to locate it at the Golden Palace in Chapter 3, Bestower of Wealth. Therefore, it is recommended that you select this fragment as one of your three starting items.
2. Atlasdam
To get this fragment, you must speak with the NPC called Cat of Graceful Bearing, found near the entrance where a few other characters are gathered. You’ll need the Speak With Animals ability to do this, which is unlocked by offering an Azure Flamestone at the altar in Wishvale after it has been fully built (post Chapter 5 of the “Kindlers of the Flame” storyline).
3. Theatropolis
In Theatropolis, this fragment is tucked away on a bookshelf. Keep an eye out for a small shining blue mark inside one of the city buildings—interact with it to secure the fragment.
4. Waterpool Caves
You will naturally visit the Waterpool Caves during the “Master of All” storyline, but the fragment itself isn’t accessible until this point. Even if you enter the caves earlier, it won’t appear until the story reaches the correct stage.
5. Path to Herminia’s Manse
This fragment appears only after certain conditions are met. Look for it near the area where Margot is present early in the “Kindlers of the Flame” story arc. It will spawn once the arena has been built and the plant monster in the area is ready for battle. The fragment sits just behind this monster.
What to do Afterwards
After collecting all five fragments, make your way to the Isle of Sages in the southeastern part of the Outersea. You may have noticed the gate here previously, it won’t open until you have a ship, which is required in Chapter 3 of the “Bestower of All” arc but can be obtained earlier.
Once inside, interact with the Cait characters using Path Actions. Then proceed to the back of the area, where you’ll meet Isla. As a reward for collecting all the fragments, Isla immediately joins your party.
