To collect every hidden Monstie in Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, you will need to explore every area. Some rare monsters only appear after completing special quests, some require you to force invasive monsters to retreat, and others only unlock through Habitat Restoration by raising ecosystem ranks in the right conditions. A few will be available only at night or after hidden cutscenes trigger in some regions. In this guide, we will tell you all the hidden monsters’ locations in Monster Hunter Stories 3.

    All Hidden Monsters Locations

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection has many hidden monsties that you will never find just by going to normal dens. Some appear through habitat restoration mutations, some unlock after special side activities, and a few only show up after beating main bosses.

    Great Poogie

Once you have turned in all 100 Poogies for the Poogie Hunt 4 quest, go back and talk to the Expert Farmer. During the conversation, he will hint that there may still be one more Poogie left.

After that conversation, a new special den will appear in Blightstone Woods near Azuria. Go there and enter the den marked with question marks. Inside the den, you will find an egg quartz that has the Great Poogie egg. Interact with it to collect the egg, then take it to any Stable and hatch it to unlock your Great Poogie Monstie.

    Pink Rathian

You can unlock Pink Rathian by using Habitat Restoration and raising the ecosystem rank of Rathian to Rank B. Once Rathian reaches that level, Pink Rathian becomes available.

    Dreadqueen Rathian

After you get a Rathian, place it in a habitat where at least three poisonous monsters are already living. Keep adding more Rathians to that same habitat and releasing them there until the habitat reaches Rank S. Once you reach that rank, Dreadqueen Rathian will start appearing in Egg Dens.

    Lagiacrus

You can get Lagiacrus by first finding and defeating the Plesioth invasion encounter. After it retreats, a new den will appear, and inside that den you can collect a Lagiacrus egg. Once you hatch your first Lagiacrus, place it in any habitat you want and restore it there. After that, Lagiacrus eggs will also start appearing in regular Egg Dens.

    Ivory Lagiacrus

You can unlock Ivory Lagiacrus by using Habitat Restoration and raising the ecosystem rank of Lagiacrus to Rank A. Once Lagiacrus reaches that rank, Ivory Lagiacrus becomes available.

    Astalos

You can get Astalos by first finding the invasive Seregios encounter. After it retreats, a new den will appear, and inside that den you can collect an Astalos egg.

    Boltreaver Astalos

After you get Astalos, place it in a habitat where at least three lightning-element monsters are already living. Keep collecting more Astalos and releasing them into that same habitat until the habitat reaches Rank S. Once you hit that rank, Boltreaver Astalos will start appearing in Egg Dens.

    Espinas

You can fight Espinas as a hidden boss in Broadleaf Basin, located in Azuria. If you want its egg, look through Monster Dens in Bountiful Dunes in Tarkuan, where Espinas eggs can be found.

    Brachydios

You can get Brachydios eggs by searching Monster Dens in the areas where this monster normally lives. Once you find an egg, take it to the Stable and hatch it to add Brachydios to your team.

    Deviljho

Deviljho can be found early on a mountain cliff in Canalta Timberland. You can get Deviljho eggs by exploring Monster Dens in the areas where this monster appears. Once you find one, bring it back to the Stable and hatch it to obtain Deviljho.

    Deadeye Yian Garuga

After you get Yian Garuga, place it in a habitat where at least three monsters rated 5 stars or higher are already living. Keep collecting more Yian Garuga and releasing them into the same habitat until the habitat reaches Rank S. Once you reach that level, Deadeye Yian Garuga will start appearing in Egg Dens.

    Green Nargacuga

You can unlock Green Nargacuga by using Habitat Restoration and raising the ecosystem rank of Nargacuga to Rank A. Once Nargacuga reaches that rank, Green Nargacuga becomes available.

    Silverwind Nargacuga

After you get Nargacuga, place it in a habitat where at least three wind-focused monsters are already living. Keep collecting more Nargacuga and releasing them into that same habitat until the habitat reaches Rank S. Once you reach Rank S, Silverwind Nargacuga will start appearing in Egg Dens.

    Soulseer Mizutsune

After you get Mizutsune, place it in a habitat that also has Zinogre living there. Keep adding more Mizutsune and Zinogre to the same habitat until the habitat reaches Rank S. Once you reach that level, Soulseer Mizutsune will start appearing in Egg Dens.

    Stygian Zinogre

You can unlock Stygian Zinogre by using Habitat Restoration and raising the ecosystem rank of Zinogre to Rank A. Once Zinogre reaches that rank, Stygian Zinogre becomes available.

    Thunderlord Zinogre

It is found at S Rank when paired with Mizutsune habitat conditions.

    Brute Tigrex

You can unlock Brute Tigrex by using Habitat Restoration and raising the ecosystem rank of Tigrex to Rank A. Once Tigrex reaches that rank, Brute Tigrex becomes available.

    Grimclaw Tigrex

You can unlock Grimclaw Tigrex by using Habitat Restoration and raising the ecosystem rank of four Power-type monsters to Rank S. Once all four reach that level, Grimclaw Tigrex becomes available.

    Bloodbath Diablos

You can unlock Bloodbath Diablos by using Habitat Restoration and raising the ecosystem rank of Diablos to Rank S in Bountiful Dunes in Tarkuan. Once it reaches that rank, Bloodbath Diablos becomes available.

You can unlock Azure Rathalos by using Habitat Restoration and raising the ecosystem rank of Rathalos to Rank A. Once Rathalos reaches that rank, Azure Rathalos becomes available.

    Dreadking Rathalos

You can unlock Dreadking Rathalos by using Habitat Restoration and raising the ecosystem rank of Rathalos to Rank S in a habitat that has four or more Flying Wyvern species living there. Once those conditions are met, Dreadking Rathalos becomes available.

    Namielle

You can make Namielle appear at Mirror Lake in Azuria by defeating enemies there during night time. Night exploration only becomes available after you finish the main story quest Endangered Species, so you will need to clear that first before trying to spawn Namielle.

    Velkhana

You can find Velkhana in Serathis. It only appears during nighttime, so head there after dark and keep winning battles in that area until a special cutscene triggers. Once the cutscene plays, Velkhana will appear

    Rathian

You can get Rathian while completing the Endangered Species quest. One of the rewards for finishing that quest is a Rathian Egg, which you can then hatch in the Stable to obtain Rathian.

    Yian Garuga

You can get Yian Garuga eggs by searching Monster Dens in its habitat areas, especially around Mt. Canalta and Howlinyowl Forest, both found in Canalta Timberland. Once you find an egg, take it to the Stable and hatch it to add Yian Garuga to your team.

    Nargacuga

You can get Nargacuga by finding the Invasive Nerscylla in Canalta Timberland and forcing it to retreat. To make that happen, use a Gunlance and hit it with Wyvern’s Fire or Wyvern’s Blaze, then wait and build up stamina until it attacks you. Once Nerscylla retreats, a new den will appear nearby. Enter that den to collect a Nargacuga egg.

    Mizutsune

To trigger the retreat, block its attack using Armour Skin or the Defensive Ditty skill from the Hunting Horn. Once Shogun Ceanataur retreats, a new den will appear nearby. Go inside that den to collect a Mizutsune egg.

    Zinogre

You can get Zinogre by finding the Invasive Odogaron in Tarkuan and forcing it to retreat. To do that, bring a monster that can inflict Mudblight and make sure to break its claws during the fight. Once Odogaron retreats, a new den will appear nearby. Enter that den to collect a Zinogre egg.

    Tigrex

You can get Tigrex by finding the Invasive Diablos in Tarkuan and forcing it to retreat. To trigger the retreat, use a Hammer with a meteor skill and time the skill correctly when the ground erupts during the fight. Once Diablos retreats, a new den will appear nearby. Go inside that den to collect a Tigrex egg.

    Diablos

To get Diablos, search through Monster Dens in Rococo Rocks, located in Tarkuan. Diablos eggs can appear there, and once you find one, take it to the Stable to hatch it and add Diablos to your team.

    Glavenus

To get Glavenus, explore Monster Dens in Rococo Rocks in Tarkuan. Glavenus eggs can appear there, and once you find one, take it to the Stable and hatch it to obtain the monster.

    Barioth

You can get Barioth by finding the Invasive Khezu in Serathis and forcing it to retreat. To make that happen, bring a way to remove Paralysis, use Speed double attacks, and activate Kinship when the prompt appears during the fight. Once Khezu retreats, a new den will appear nearby. Enter that den to collect a Barioth egg.

    Rathalos

To get Rathalos, search Monster Dens in Sacrosanctum and Lazlion, both located in Serathis. Rathalos eggs can appear in these areas, and once you find one, take it to the Stable and hatch it to add Rathalos to your team.

Decided that degrees were as useful as extra lives in a Mario game-totally unnecessary! I’m diving into the extravagant universe of my favourite game, Assassin’s Creed, which lets me roam the world without actually paying for plane tickets. Hodophile by nature and aspiring to get lost in Hang Sơn Đoòng cave in Vietnam someday!
