Welcome to the ultimate College level walkthrough of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 4. Perhaps one of the more open and expansive levels, College introduces new physics, multi-level worlds, and diverse NPC interaction. Set within a sun-kissed university campus featuring lecture halls, playing fields, and hidden underground tunnels, this walkthrough guides you through every goal, collectible, and secret needed to achieve ultimate completion.
Overview and Layout
College is one of the earliest tiers of THPS4 and is a monstrous learning hub for THPS4’s free-roaming mode. Unlike the time-limiting objectives of the previous games, THPS4 offers the option of skatable freedom, achieving objectives through interactions with spread-out NPCs within the map. College is divided into various zones: the middle quad, sports field, lecture buildings, rooftop dorms, and maintenance underground. Every zone has its own objectives, hidden information, and skate lines.
Goals Overview
There are many goals to achieve, and most of them are initiated by approaching NPCs and accepting their challenges. They range from basic trick requests to platforming and exploration challenges. The following are the key objectives and how to achieve them:
Get the Students to Class
This challenge has you locate and herd a group of late students by skating around them and guiding them to the lecture hall. The trick is not to frighten them or hit them, as they will run away. Guide them slowly, with large circles and gentle speed management. Start near the main quad and proceed up to the building with the bell tower.
Combo Over the Street
One of the more difficult trick goals. Find where the two sides of the street are connected by a gap. Use the bank ramp and jump into a grind on the railing opposite, revert back into a manual, and transfer into a grind on the ledge ahead. Chain all segments into a combo.
Spine Transfer the Bridge
This target demonstrates how to do spine transfer. Locate the bridge over the half-pipe in the quad section. Roll up and spine transfer from side to side between the quarter-pipes beneath the bridge. Good air control is important—lean forward slightly to gain distance.
Find the Hidden Professor
A textbook THPS-style challenge objective. The professor is located in a hard-to-reach place: on top of a building with little direct access. Ride the planter ledges and wallrides around the sides of the lecture hall to get some altitude, then jump over to a fire escape. Follow along the ledge route around until you spot the professor. Chatting with him finishes the challenge.
Wallride the Bell Tower
To complete this, locate the bell tower in the quad. Ride up from the courtyard and wallride the sides of the tower. At the top, wallie or wallride transfer to make contact with the midsection. It may take a few attempts to get the timing and angle right. Once completed, a cutscene is triggered where the bell rings.
Get the Secret Tape
The Secret Tape returns as a secret collectible. In College, it’s found on top of the big stadium scoreboard. To access it, go to the sports field, ride the bleachers as your jump point, and wallride the scoreboard to a secret ledge. Ollie up there to grab the tape. Good air control is required, since falling short of the ledge requires going around.
Beat the High Score Challenge
Began by speaking with a student near the amphitheater, this goal tests you to beat a set score in a limited time. Use the rails and ledges surrounding the theater steps to keep your combo going. Add manuals and special tricks to multiply your points in no time. There is trick potential in every space, so don’t rush—just focus on smooth transitions.
Collect S-K-A-T-E

As in all the other THPS games, collecting the letters S-K-A-T-E remains a typical goal.
- S is on top of a tall awning near the dorms. Wallride and handrail there to obtain it.
- K is floating above the fountain. Grab a curved ledge as a kicker.
- A is on the roof of the lecture hall. Ride up the side wall and ollie over.
- T is near the bridge. Use the planter ramp to grab it out of the air.
- E is above the underground portal. Use a manual combo and ledge grind to approach from the rear.
Laying out a path to hit all the letters in a single combo run is recommended for convenience.
Help the Maintenance Crew
This multi-part mission involves turning on valves and resetting broken vents around the campus. Each objective requires grinding or wallriding specific targets marked by hazard tape or blinking lights. You’ll receive this challenge from the janitor near the generator building. Follow the arrows carefully—some paths are hidden behind fences or require precise jumps.
