Exploring Where Winds Meet is full of surprises, and Encounter Quests are some of the most exciting moments you’ll come across. These short, timed events appear as you travel through Jianghu, letting you meet new characters, uncover hidden stories, and earn valuable rewards. In this guide, we’ve gathered every Encounter location we’ve discovered so far, along with how to unlock them. We’ll keep adding more as we continue exploring, so you always know where to go and what to expect.
All Encounter Locations
These Encounters are timed events that appear as you explore the world of Jianghu, giving you the chance to meet new characters and earn unique rewards. So far, these are all the encounters we’ve discovered. We’ll keep updating the guide as we find more.
Little Master’s Legacy I


You’ll begin this part of the story in the Verdant Wilds. To start Little Master’s Legacy I, head to the Qinghe region and keep an eye out for Xiao Ping’an. He likes to hang around enemy camps, quietly watching from a distance. The quest will automatically unlock once you clear out all the enemies in one of these camps.
He doesn’t always appear in the same spot, so don’t worry if you don’t see him right away. Xiao Ping’an can spawn at different locations throughout the Verdant Wilds; just look for him near any camp you’re planning to fight your way through.
Completing it gives you a small boost of character experience, some Qinghe Exploration progress, Zhou Coins, and a handful of Enlightenment Points to help with your early upgrades.
Her Legacy


This quest also takes place in the Verdant Wilds. To unlock Her Legacy, make sure you’ve finished Chapter 1: Heaven Has No Pier first. Once that’s done, head over to Heaven’s Pier in the Qinghe region.
While you’re exploring the Brewery area there, the Her Legacy encounter will automatically trigger. It’s a simple unlock just walk around the Brewery and the quest will start on its own. It rewards you with Echo Jade, plenty of Exploration progress, Zhou Coins, and enough EXP.
Beauty and Blade


Head over to Moonveil Mountain for this one. To unlock Beauty and Blade, first make sure you’ve taken down the Bloomveil Monastery Outpost. Once the outpost is cleared, head over to Blissful Retreat in the Qinghe region. Look around the Bamboo Grove area and you’ll spot a red gate. As soon as you walk up to it, the Beauty and Blade quest will automatically start.
Along with Alms Pilgrim, you’ll earn a lot of Echo Jade, Enlightenment Points, Jade Fish, character EXP, and coins.
Little Master’s Legacy II


Back in the Verdant Wilds, the second chapter continues the Little Master storyline. To start Little Master’s Legacy II, you need to be in the Qinghe region and have already unlocked the Strategic Sword martial arts skill. Just like before, keep an eye out for Xiao Ping’an. He likes to hide around enemy camps and watch from a distance. The quest will appear once you clear out all the enemies in one of these camps.
He doesn’t stay in one fixed spot, so don’t worry if he’s not there right away Xiao Ping’an can spawn at different camp locations across the Verdant Wilds. It gives you character EXP, some coins, and more Exploration and Enlightenment Points to steadily push your progress forward.
Twisted Destiny


To unlock Twisted Destiny, head to the Bamboo Retreat in the Qinghe region. Make sure you’ve already finished Chapter 1: Heaven Has No Pier, since the quest won’t appear before that. When you arrive, you’ll find a pack of wolves gathered just outside the retreat. Take them out first. After the fight, look near the entrance of the ruined house and you’ll find a note called “Challenge to the Cur.” Reading that note will automatically start the Twisted Destiny quest.
This major Verdant Wilds quest rewards you with the Red Fish Kite. You’ll also receive a large amount of Echo Jade, Enlightenment Points, character EXP, and coin.
A Duel of Wits


To unlock A Duel of Wits, make sure you’re in the Qinghe region and have completed the Gift of Gab: Silver Tongue exploration quest. During that quest, you’ll face He Wanchun in a Rhetoric Battle. Once you beat him, the A Duel of Wits quest will automatically trigger. Finishing it earns you the Alright, You Win hero title, along with solid amounts of Echo Jade, Exploration progress, EXP, and coin.
Tales That Soar


To unlock Tales That Soar, just make your way to Heaven’s Pier in the Qinghe region. As you get close to the spot where Old Jiang is standing, the encounter will automatically start. Travel to Heaven’s Pier to dive into this story chapter. It gives you Echo Jade, Qinghe Exploration, Enlightenment Points, and character EXP and coins.
A Kindred Steed


To unlock A Kindred Steed, head over to Finestead Hamlet in the Qinghe region. Once you walk up to the Horse Merchant, the encounter will start on its own. Just approach him and the quest begins. The rewards are Echo Jade, Exploration progress, Enlightenment Points, EXP, and coin.
Forged Tales


To unlock Forged Tales, make your way to Deerforage Grove in the Qinghe region. As you approach the Boundary Stone near Moonveil Mountain, the quest will activate on its own. Back in the Verdant Wilds, this quest adds another chapter to your journey, giving you Echo Jade, Qinghe Exploration, Enlightenment Points, and a decent amount of EXP and coins.
Little Master’s Legacy III


For Little Master’s Legacy III, you need to have the Stormbreaker Spear martial arts skill unlocked. Then, head into the Qinghe region and search for Xiao Ping’an near enemy camps. He tends to hide and watch from a distance. The quest starts after you defeat all the enemies in one of these camps. Since Xiao Ping’an doesn’t appear in just one spot, you might find him at different camps around the Verdant Wilds.
The third part of the Little Master storyline once again takes place in the Verdant Wilds. Completing it gives you small but steady rewards, more Exploration, Enlightenment Points, character EXP, and coins.
Lucky Break

To start Lucky Break, travel to Riverside Station in Qinghe. Once you’re nearby, look for a worried grandfather standing with his grandson along the road between Riverside Station and Harvestfall Village. As soon as you walk up to them, the encounter will automatically trigger. Over at Moonveil Mountain, this quest rewards you with Echo Jade, Exploration progress, Enlightenment Points, and EXP and coin.
A Toast to Destiny: Part I


To start A Toast to Destiny: Part I, head to Heaven’s Pier in Qinghe. Look around for the Lone Drinker and talk to him. He’ll mistake you for a waiter, play along and offer him some good wine. Doing that will trigger the quest instantly. You will get coins and EXP, and also unlock the Drunken Fist pose.
The Hidden Ugliness


To unlock the More Than Meets the Eye encounter, head over to the arena in Qinghe. Once you’ve reached the General’s Shrine, you’ll be able to trigger it. All you need to do is walk around the arena and challenge a few of the contestants to a duel. After a couple of fights, the encounter will activate on its own.
Travel deep into Sundara Land for one of the heavier story moments. This quest rewards you with Echo Jade, Exploration progress, EXP, and coins along with Ode to Autumn.
More Than Meets the Eye


To unlock the More Than Meets the Eye encounter, make your way to the arena in Qinghe. Once you’ve progressed far enough to reach the General’s Shrine, this event becomes available. After that, just walk around the arena and challenge a few of the fighters to a duel. Winning these matches will automatically trigger the encounter. Completing it gives you the Echo Jade, Enlightenment Points, Qinghe Exploration, EXP and coin.
A Toast to Destiny: Part II
To unlock A Toast to Destiny: Part II, head over to Qinghe and make sure you’ve already finished A Toast to Destiny: Part I. Once that’s done, simply play a round of Pitch Pot. Doing that will automatically start the second part of the quest. The second half of the celebration quest takes you to Sundara Land again. You’ll receive coins and EXP, along with rare items like Lifelong Vow and Resolve.
Little Master’s Legacy IV


To unlock Little Master’s Legacy IV in Qinghe, you’ll first need to finish Little Master’s Legacy III. After that, keep an eye out for a villager who likes to hang around enemy camps. When you find him, clear out all the enemies in the camp. Once the area is safe, the next part of the quest will automatically unlock. He can appear in different spots across the Verdant Wilds, so you might need to look around a bit until you spot him watching a camp from nearby.
This one rewards you with the Peace Spear, you will also gain more Jade Fish, Echo Jade, Exploration progress, Enlightenment Points, character EXP, and a bit of coin.
The Ephemeral Blight


You’ll find this quest in the Mistveil Forest area of Kaifeng, but it only becomes available once you’ve made enough story progress to actually reach Kaifeng. As for the rewards, you’ll get 50 Echo Jade, 50 Kaifeng Exploration points, 20,000 coins, and 20,000 Stored EXP.
