In Ghost of Yotei, Duelling Trees are special locations where you can challenge skilled ronin for sword duels. There are a total of six Duelling Trees found all over the Yotei Grasslands and Tokachi Range. Each tree offers a unique duel, and you will need to defeat all five ronin before unlocking the final challenge. These duels not only test your combat skills but also lead to a final showdown. Below is a step-by-step guide to help you find all the Duelling Trees.
All Duelling Tree locations
The Duelling Trees are six special locations where you face skilled ronin in one-on-one duels. The first two trees are in the Yotei Grasslands, while the next three are across the Tokachi Range. Each duel rewards you with a unique charm that grants helpful abilities, such as boosting damage when your health is low, gaining Spirit when taking damage, stronger parries, or recovering health from staggered enemies. After defeating the first five ronin and collecting all five charms, the final Duelling Tree appears on the southern coast of Yotei Grasslands. This final fight completes the Duelling Tree questline.
The First Duelling Tree

The first Duelling Tree is located just south of the Shikotsu River in the Yotei Grasslands. When you reach the spot, you will find a ronin standing nearby. Walk up to him, challenge him to a duel, and defeat him to complete this tree. When you equip this charm, it makes your attacks stronger whenever your health is low.
The Second Duelling Tree

The second Duelling Tree can be found in the northwestern part of the Yotei River, still within Yotei Grasslands. Just like before, approach the ronin, challenge him, and win the fight to move forward. When you use this charm, you gain Spirit every time you take damage.
The Third Duelling Tree

The third tree is hidden in the northwestern corner of the Tokachi Range. To find it, look for a small gap in the cliffside and squeeze through it. On the other side, you will find the Duelling tree and the ronin waiting for you. Challenge and defeat him to clear this one. This charm makes your parries more powerful by increasing the stagger damage you deal when you block and counter an enemy’s attack.
The Fourth Duelling Tree

Next, go to the southern area of the Tomamu Marshlands, which is still in the Tokachi Range. Here you will find the fourth Duelling Tree. Walk up to the ronin like before, challenge him to a duel, and take him down to complete the challenge. When you have this charm equipped, defeating staggered enemies will help you regain some health.
The Fifth Duelling Tree

For the fifth tree, make your way to Niikappu Falls, located in the northeast part of the Tokachi Range. Once you arrive, find the ronin by the tree and defeat him in a duel just like the others. It slightly increases the amount of health you recover when using the Heal technique.
The Sixth Duelling Tree

After you’ve defeated all five ronin, a new marker will appear on your map, showing the location of the final Duelling Tree in the south of Yotei Grasslands. The tree is on top of a cliff and marked as a named location.
Once there, look for a campfire and a tree stump. Interact with the stump to “wait for Takezo.” He will appear and lead you down to the beach. Follow him, and when he stops, the final duel will begin. Defeat him to complete the Duelling Tree questline.
