These special books are not simple objects; they are keys to powerful arcane spells, allowing one access to secret spells and adding power to any aspiring wizard. As a master spellcaster or as a fighter who wishes to experiment with the arcane, these Grimoires are an enormous asset. This guide will expose the whereabouts and how to get all six of these highly sought-after Unique Grimoires, each containing the secret to unlocking immense magical abilities.
All Unique Grimoires in Avowed
There are six Hidden Unique Grimoires across the game, a few of which can only be accessed as you advance in the main quest. They can be worn as Off-Hand pieces of equipment in your character’s inventory, enabling you to cast spells belonging to the Wizard class. What this means is that non-magicians can also access arcane magic, while spellcasters have a wider range of spells to add to their arsenal. However, many of the spells in these Grimoires aren’t usable right away — you’ll need to level up your Grimoire Mastery (GM) skill to unlock their full potential.
Anextli’s Grimoire

“Anextli’s Grimoire” is a really special, one-of-a-kind Grimoire. It’s not just any old spellbook; it’s unique. Basically, it lets you unlock and use different magic spells that you can learn as a wizard in the game. Think of it as a key to powerful magical abilities.

How to Get: Okay, to get your hands on this magical book, you’ll need to do a little bit of exploring. So, first off, go to a location that’s called “Ivona’s Threshold.” From there, go towards the “Berath’s Gateway.” Now, do not go through the Gateway proper. Instead, look up. There are some cliffs high up above the Gateway. You can find a skeleton there, and next to that, you should see the Grimoire. There are also supposed to be some materials and a banner around, so watch out for those as well.
Aurochs-Skin Grimoire

How to Get: Okay, so you’re playing Avowed and you’re doing a main quest called “Face Your Fears.” You’ll end up in a place called “Ryngrim’s Domain.”
Here’s how to find the Aurochs-Skin Grimoire:
- When you get into Ryngrim’s Domain, look for a statue of Ryngrim.
- From that statue, turn right.
- You’ll see a bookshelf. Look closely, because there’s a secret switch on it.
- Activate that switch, and a hidden room will open up.
- Inside that secret room, you’ll find a dead body (a cadaver).
- The Aurochs-Skin Grimoire is right next to that body.
Beothel’s Grimoire

You can find this market district pretty easily because it’s close to the Eastern Paradis Gate Beacon, which is like a fast travel point. Once you find Merylin, she’ll sell you the Beothel’s Grimoire, but it’s going to cost you! You’ll need 40,500 Skeyt, which is the game’s currency. So, you’ll need to save up if you want to buy it from her.
Eilara’s Grimoire

How to Get: To find Eilara’s Grimoire, you’ll need to go to a place called the “Living Archives.” It’s located northeast of the Ash Forest, so that’s your general direction. Once you get to the Living Archives, you’ll be going up onto rooftops. When you drop down onto the first rooftop you encounter in that area, look around for a chest. Eilara’s Grimoire is inside that chest, sitting right out in the open.
Od Caura’s Grimoire
“Od Caura’s Grimoire” is a very special, one-of-a-kind Grimoire. It’s unique, meaning there’s only one of it. This particular book allows you to unlock and use a variety of powerful spells, expanding your wizard’s magical abilities. It’s a valuable find for any wizard player.

How to Get: Alright, to find Od Caura’s Grimoire, you’ll need to do some exploring. Start by heading west from the Wildwoods area. Keep going until you find some ruins called the Paragrun Cache. Once you’re in the Paragrun Cache, you’ll need to venture deep inside. You’ll find the Grimoire in a chest, but it’s not going to be easy to get to. You’ll have to get through several locked gates to reach it. So, be prepared for a bit of a challenge!
Vesrik’s Grimoire
“Vesrik’s Grimoire” is a really special one, a unique Grimoire. That means it’s one of a kind. It unlocks a set of spells that your wizard can learn and use, making them more powerful. So, finding this Grimoire is a big boost for any wizard player.

How to Get: Okay, to find Vesrik’s Grimoire, you’ll need to do some traveling and a bit of magic.
- First, head to a place called “Maxim’s Claim.”
- From there, go southwest until you reach the shoreline near the “Logging Camp” area.
- Now, this is where it gets tricky! You’ll need to use a special ability called “Eyes of Rymrgand.” This lets you create icy platforms.
- Use those icy platforms to cross the water and get into a hidden area called “Wavsculpt Hollow.”
- Once you’re inside the cavern of Wavsculpt Hollow, look around. You’ll find a dead body, and Vesrik’s Grimoire will be right there on it.
