    All Armor & Dye Locations

In Ghost of Yotei, you can track down a total of 12 unique armor sets and their different dyes. Collecting every one of them will unlock the For All Occasions trophy.

    Onryo Armor Location

Atsu begins the game with Onryo Armor (without the Onryo Mask), which upgrades automatically as the story progresses each time a Yotei Six member is defeated, rather than through Ginji the Armorer. Suited for an Onryo playstyle, it amplifies Atsu’s fear abilities: Spirit Attacks or thrown melee weapons can Terrify foes, potentially summoning a wolf, and Terrified enemies take extra damage. Matching gear includes Lone Wolf’s Straw Hat and the Onryo Mask.

    Onryo Armor Dye Locations

    Lone Wolf

The Lone Wolf dye is available from the very beginning of the game so there’s no need to purchase it from any merchant.

    Endless Sky

To get the Endless Sky dye, you’ll have to go to Ginji the Armorer and purchase it from him.

    A Lady in Snow

For acquiring the A Lady in Snow dye, you’ll have to travel to the Yotei Grasslands. Once there, find the White Dye Merchant and purchase the dye from him.

    Curse in the Forest

For acquiring the Curse in the Forest dye, you’ll have to travel to the Tokachi Range. Once there, find the Green Dye Merchant and purchase the dye from him.

    Blood and Flies

    Blades on a Stream

    Nine-Tail Armor Location

The Nine Tail Armor is obtained when you travel to Teshio Ridge to face the Kitsune, a member of the Yotei Six and Lord Saito’s spymaster. Focused on stealth, it enhances Quickfire weapons like Kunai and Smoke Bombs by increasing their damage and extending status effect durations. Assassinating enemies may replenish Quickfire ammo, while detection by foes is reduced. Complementary gear includes the Nine Tails Acolyte, Apprentice, and Master Headbands, along with their matching masks.

    Nine Tail Armor Dye Locations

    Mercenary Attire Location

The Mercenary Attire can be acquired while hunting the Oni in Ishikari Plain. It’s a well rounded set that favors melee combat and enhances Atsu’s use of Sake. Thrown melee weapons deal extra damage and restore Spirit, assassinations may drop Sake, and drinking it further boosts Spirit. Matching gear includes the Straw Hat and Mercenary Mask.

    Mercenary Armor Dye Locations

    Highest Bidder

For the Highest Bidder dye, you will have to complete the “Echoes of the Storm” main mission first. Once done, you can buy the dye from Taro the Scavenger.

The Sly Hunter & Dueling Harvest dyes are available for purchase from Taro the Scavenger.

    Taro’s Armor Location

This set is gifted to you by Taro, a young boy you can encounter in several ways. He sometimes appears when you set up camp (hold left on the D-pad near your horse). You might also meet him at different camps across the map, especially in the Tokachi Range region. A guaranteed location is south of Tokachi Range in Shizunai Woods—help prepare food at his camp, and Taro will thank you by giving you the armor.

    Taro Armor Dye Locations

    Tenacious Spirit

To acquire the Tenacious Spirit dye, you’ll have to go to Ginji the Armorer in Yotei’s Shadow Inn and purchase it from him.

All Weapon Locations in Ghost of Yotei

    Spider Lily Armor Location

The Spider Lily Armor can be obtained early in the game by completing a myth in Tokachi Range. To acquire it, head to the Abandoned Tominaga Estate, located behind the Mysterious Gate.

While its stats favor Onryo and defensive playstyles, it is also effective for melee combat, especially when upgraded, as it increases stagger damage and can spread stagger effects to nearby enemies.

    Spider Lily Armor Dye Locations

    Dragonfly Armor Location

The Dragonfly Armor can be obtained early in Ghost of Yotei by completing the quest “The Dragonfly Armor” from Daijiro in Tokachi Range, northeast of the Yotei Grasslands. Found near Traveler’s Rests, marked by fires or smoke. Daijiro tasks you with saving him, meeting him at Huranui’s Inn, defeating him at Zeni Hajiki, and rescuing him from bounty hunters.

The armor enhanced archery: fully drawn shots create a glint that boosts damage and range, grants Concentration, and speeds arrow reload. Matching gear includes Dragonfly’s Prey, Flight, and Rebirth Helmets.

    Victory’s Shine

To get the Victory’s Shine dye, you simply have to find an Ainu merchant and purchase the dye from him.

    Bounty Master Armor Location

The Bounty Master Armor is earned by completing a bounty in Yotei Grasslands targeting Soma the Condemned, who wields a cursed flute requiring him to kill to play. The armor enhances defensive timing: Perfect Parry and Dodge windows are extended, Perfect Parries trigger extra counterattacks, and all Spirit gains are increased. Following the Guiding Wind to a cavern, play “Soma’s Song” on the Shamisen, navigate a short parkour section, duel Soma, and claim the armor.

    Armor of the Undying Location

The Armor of the Undying is tied to the myth of the Undying Samurai, a cursed warrior who sustains his immortality through killing. The quest begins by hearing the tale at Storyteller’s Rest in north-central Ishikari Plain or speaking with locals.

You must find four wind chimes, starting near Storyteller’s Rest, each pointing to the next. The armor, when paired with a matching weapon, restores health from staggered enemies, extends Perfect Parry and Dodge windows, and lets Focus Attacks boost stagger damage.

Armor of the Undying Dye Locations

    Gilded Pride

    Grave Maker

In Teshio Ridge, during the main mission: “The Reckoning”, you can easily buy the Grave Maker dye from the Black Dye Merchant.

    Ginji’s Guard Armor Location

Ginji’s Guard Armor is usually one of the last sets obtained in Ghost of Yotei, unlocked after reaching Oshima Coast during the Saito Brothers questline. Ginji, who upgrades armors throughout Yotei, offers this prototype set only here.

The armor speeds up Tanegashima reloads, reduces projectile damage, and lets blocking deflect bullets while restoring Spirit. Matching gear includes Ginji’s Guard Helmet and Mask. Completing Ginji’s quest near Matsumae Residences rewards the armor, ideal for Tanegashima users and bullet defense.

    Ginji’s Guard Armor Dye Locations

    Silver Shield

To acquire the Silver Shield dye, you’ll have to travel to the Yotei Grasslands. Once there, find the White Dye Merchant and purchase the dye from him.

    Robes for Sitturaynu Location

The Robes for Sitturaynu are rewarded for completing the Tale “The Heart of an Ainu.” To begin, travel via ferry to the Nayoro Wilds north of Tokachi Range and meet Huci, an Ainu woman. The robes feature fireflies and vibrations that guide you to Altars of Reflection and Ainu Items, while golden birds lead to Shamisen Songs, Sumi-e paintings, Pillars of the Fallen, and Dye Merchants.

Flowers along trails or tall grass can be collected automatically. Matching headgear includes Traveler’s Dawn and Journey Headbands, and Traveler’s Dusk Hat. Upgrading the robes requires gathering Ainu Items across Ezo, guided by the “Ainu Song” on the Shamisen, and returning them to Kaeka the Weaver in Husko Kotan.

    Robes for Sitturaynu Dye Locations

By the Hearth & Resting Bear

To get the By the Hearth & Resting Bear dyes, you simply have to find an Ainu merchant and purchase the dyes from him.

    Clear Skies

To get the Clear Skies dye, you will first have to acquire/collect all thirty Ainu items and then you will get the dye as a reward.

    Crimson Kimono Location

The Crimson Kimono quest in Ghost of Yotei is long but easy. Begin by locating three Sun-Painted Trees: bright orange Mother-Daughter trees spotted with a spyglass, north of “Sakuru Woods,” southwest of “Hakodake Mountains,” and northwest of Teshio River near the map’s flower icon. Following each tree, red yuki mushi (fireflies) guide you.

The armor reduces enemy detection, extends Kusarigama assassination range, and allows chain assassinations with Kunai. After the third swarm, follow the fireflies from the Old Home attic to a stream, complete a snow sculpture, and reach a grave where interacting with a stone pile grants the armor.

    Crimson Kimono Dye Locations

    Burrowed Moss

To acquire the Burrowed Moss dye, you’ll have to travel to the Tokachi Range. Once there, find the Green Dye Merchant and purchase the dye from him.

    Stolen Sunflower

To get the Stolen Sunflower dye, you’ll have to go to Ginji the Armorer and purchase it from him.

    Eclipsed Plum

Once you’re done with the “Echoes of the Storm” main mission, you can purchase the dye from any Ainu merchant you wish to.

    Hidden Sakura

To get the Hidden Sakura dye, you simply have to find an Ainu merchant and purchase the dye from him.

    Fundoshi Location

The Fundoshi, a traditional Japanese undergarment, isn’t technically armor but counts as the 12th and final set in Ghost of Yotei. To obtain it, complete a full bathing tour across Ezo by visiting all 16 Hot Springs. Playing the “Song of Well-Being” will guide the wind toward each spring, or you can use your spyglass to spot the bright red trees that mark their locations, often elevated on cliffs. Wearing the Fundoshi silences footsteps while running or sprinting, providing stealth advantages, but increases the risk of frostbite, temporarily reducing maximum health.
