In Hollow Knight: Silksong, the Psalm Cylinders are special items you need to collect for the Vaultkeeper Cardinius quest. There are six of them hidden across different areas of the game, with one of them available for purchase. Some are easy to spot, while others require keys, abilities, or tricky platforming to reach. This guide will show you where to find all six Psalm Cylinders step by step so you can complete the Vaultkeeper’s quest without missing any.
Vaultkeeper Quest in Silksong
You’ll first meet Vaultkeeper Cardinius in the Whispering Vaults. Talk to him there, and after that, your task is to go out and gather all the Psalm Cylinders he asks for. Once you’ve collected all six Psalm Cylinders, return to Vaultkeeper Cardinius in the Whispering Vaults. Hand over the Cylinders to complete his quest.

There are six Psalm Cylinders to find in Silksong. These items are tied to Vaultkeeper Cardinius and his questline.

1. Psalm Cylinder – Whispering Vaults (First Bench)
The very first Psalm Cylinder is in the Whispering Vaults, right next to the first Bench where you’ll meet Vaultkeeper Cardinius. From the Bench area, go right and climb up the platforms at the far end to grab it.
2. Sacred Cylinder – Whispering Vaults (Underworks Entrance)
The second Psalm Cylinder, also called the Sacred Cylinder, is in the Whispering Vaults, down near the entrance to the Underworks. There’s another Bench there. From that Bench, head left until you spot it.
3. Psalm Cylinder – Songclave (Secret Area)
The third Psalm Cylinder is hidden deep within the secret Songclave area. To get there, start in the Whispering Vaults and head right into the next zone. From there, you’ll have to climb platforms, slip through narrow spiked passages, use abilities like the Drifter’s Cloak and Cling Grip, and hit a series of levers to open the way forward. After carefully navigating through traps and gears, you’ll finally reach the hidden Songclave where the Cylinder lies glowing on the ground. If you want the Cling Grip you need to complete the Threadspun Town Quest.
4. Psalm Cylinder – High Halls
The fourth Psalm Cylinder can be found in the High Halls, just above the Bench in that region. Starting at the Bench, go left to the next area and keep pushing left past some enemies until you reach a waterfall. After climbing up near the second waterfall, head right to the end of the platform. From there, jump to the upper right, then drop down, and you’ll land right at the Cylinder’s spot.
5. Psalm Cylinder – Whiteward (Surgeon’s Key Area)
The fifth Psalm Cylinder is located in Whiteward, but you’ll need the Surgeon’s Key to reach it. This key leads you to the Unravelled boss. Once you defeat the boss, head right and drop into the Underworks entrance. As soon as you land, turn left and strike the wall to break through. Keep moving along that path until you reach the Cylinder at the very end.
6. Psalm Cylinder – Blasted Steps (Buy from Grindle)
The sixth and final Psalm Cylinder is the only one you can buy. Head to the Blasted Steps, near the entrance to the Sands of Karak, and look for the merchant Grindle. He’ll sell you the Cylinder for 180 Rosaries.
