In Hollow Knight: Silksong, there’s a special side quest called “Great Taste of Pharloom”, where you will help a chef named Loyal Mergwin cook a dish for his master. Once you meet him, he will ask you to collect five rare ingredients scattered across Pharloom. These items are tricky to find, and some require special abilities or tough challenges to get. This guide will walk you through where to find each ingredient.
All 5 Rare Delicacies: Great Taste of Pharmloom Wish
You will find an NPC named Loyal Mergwin inside the Choral Chambers, right at the end of the restaurant area, next to a lever. If you hit the glass object nearby, Mergwin the chef will appear. He will ask you to gather a list of ingredients so he can cook a special dish for his master. Here are the ingredients you will need:
Mossberry Stew
Head over to Mosshome and look for an NPC called the Moss Druid. You will meet him during a side quest called “Berry Picking.” Since he is about to make Mossberry Stew, you just need to help him gather some Mossberries, and he will handle the rest. Vintage Nectar
Go to Greymoor and visit the bartender at the Halfway House. Pay Creige in Greymoor 480 Rosaries. Then you need to head into the basement and defeat all the enemies. Now he will give you the Vintage Nectar.
Pickled Muckmaggot
This one is found in the Sinner’s Road area, but you will need the Double Jump ability to reach it. Use double jumps to climb upwards. Eventually, you will reach a lever. Pull it to open a new area where you will have to fight Disgraced Chef Lugoli. Once you defeat him, he will drop the Pickled Muckmaggot.
Crustnut
Make your way to the Sands of Karak, which you can reach by heading south from the Blasted Steps Bellway. There is a hidden cave here that contains the Crustnut. It is located in a room above where the Cartographer NPC is found.
Courier’s Rasher
You have to deliver the Courier’s Rasher from Bellhart to the restaurant in Choral Chambers, and you are timed. Here’s how it works:
- Go to the Notice Board in Bellhart and find a delivery job.
- You will need to rescue two couriers, Tipp and Pill, by completing two Wish Requests (one for each).
- After rescuing them, you will unlock the delivery option.
Once the delivery starts, your goal is to run from Bellhart to Shellwood. Then Blasted Steps to Grand Gate and then Choral Chambers, without using fast travel and without getting hit.
If you take damage, the Courier’s Rasher will start to spoil. Touching water is safe; it won’t harm the item. If you get hit, quickly save and quit. Avoid benches, and try not to fight unless you absolutely have to.
Finishing this challenge rewards you with the final ingredient and helps you unlock another weapon upgrade for the Needle. You will earn you Palm Oil, a valuable material used to upgrade your weapon at Bellhart.
