The Above and Beyond Repair quest in The Outer Worlds 2 is a side mission that you can start during the Saboteur of Paradise main quest. In this guide, we’ll walk you through every step from getting access to the Automech Repair Center and earning the Zyranium Gas Shield, to sabotaging the facility and claiming your rewards.
Above and Beyond Repair Quest Guide
During the Saboteur of Paradise main quest, you’ll have a chance to get some extra help before breaking into the Vox Relay. When you arrive, you’ll meet Minister Milverstreet and Acquisitions Officer Kaur both of whom have side tasks for you. Talk to Kaur and accept her offer to start her quest.
How to Enter Automech Repair Center
To get into the Automech Repair Center, you’ll first need access credentials. You can find them at the Ministry of Accuracy, which is located northwest of Fairfield. When you arrive, you’ll see that the place is under attack by raptidons, and the entrance is wide open no guards in sight. Head inside and make your way to the larger main building.
Once inside, look for Inez and talk to her (she’ll only be there if you haven’t visited this area before). Go through the only unlocked door behind Inez the other one in the room stays locked and take out the raptidons inside. The terminal with the Access Pass is on the second floor. Climb the ladder on the wall near where you entered, walk along the rafters, and jump across to reach it.
Use the terminal to print the ARC Pass. After that, head east to the Automech Repair Center and show the pass to the guards at the gate. They’ll let you in without any trouble.
How to Get the Zyranium Gas Shield
Once you’re inside the ARC, you’ll find that the area you need to reach for the sabotage is filled with dangerous Zyranium gas. After entering without causing trouble, look for Marshal Donelson he’ll either be in his office or chatting with the Chief Mechanist outside. Talk to him and agree to help deal with the Zyranium problem.
He’ll then send you to Dr. Delphinia Bryant, who’s working on a special gas shield. This will start a new side quest called “An Aegis Against Miasma,” which you’ll need to complete to get the Zyranium Gas Shield.
How to Sabotage the Facility
Now that you’ve got the gas shield, head back to Marshal Donelson’s office and talk to him to start the “Vanquishing the Vexing Vapors” side quest. This mission will let you sabotage the ARC, making sure the facility stays shut down for good. Once you’ve completed the sabotage, return to Kaur to wrap things up. You’ll earn 1080 XP, the Designator Triple Barrel Shotgun, Kaur’s Kuirass, and a +3 reputation boost with Auntie’s Choice as your reward.
