In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the formidable Amagasaki Castle in Izumi Settsu holds a valuable legendary chest, but its acquisition is no simple feat. Players must infiltrate the heavily guarded fortress, locate the hidden key, and eliminate five elite samurai to unlock its secrets. This guide provides detailed instructions on navigating the castle’s defenses, pinpointing the key and samurai locations, and ultimately claiming the coveted Tools Master Mask.

Amagasaki Palace Location in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Amagasaki Castle is in Izumi Settsu, the starting area on the map. You’ll find it in the northern part of the region, just across the water from Osaka and a little southwest of the Senri Hills.

To get inside, head to the northwest side of the castle, where you’ll find a tree limb extending close to the wall. Climb the tree, walk across the limb, and jump from there to the castle wall.

Another way in is via the moat. On the northwest side, there’s a section of rocks at water level. You can climb onto them from the water and use your grappling hook to pull yourself onto the wall.

Once you’re inside, you’ll need to cross the second moat to reach the castle’s interior, but this is trickier because there are enemies guarding both sides of the wall. The east side of the interior moat is heavily guarded, but there’s a weak spot just to the right of the bridge, a rock juts out of the water. Climb onto it, and you can grapple your way into the interior section from there.

Amagasaki Palace Chest Location in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

The legendary chest in Amagasaki Castle is easy to find since it’s attached to the most prominent landmark in the area.

Inside the castle, there’s a particularly tall building with a viewpoint at the top. On the highest part of the roof, you’ll find a trapdoor leading into an attic. That’s where the legendary chest is located—but you won’t be able to open it until you’ve taken down all five samurai.

Inside the chest, you’ll find the Tools Master Mask. This item boosts Naoe’s critical hit chance, increases her adrenaline gain, and gives her a special perk that prevents her shuriken from breaking when hitting hard surfaces.

Amagasaki Palace Key Location in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

You can find the Amagasaki Castle Kura Key in one of the houses near the center of the area. Look for a house with a floor hatch, that’s where the key is hidden.

Amagasaki Palace Samurai Location in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

There are five Samurai in Amagasaki Castle that you must eliminate to unlock the legendary chest and complete the area. Be cautious if you’re spotted, enemies will sound the alarm, putting the entire castle on high alert and making it much harder to move around undetected.

You can take out the Samurai in any order, but it’s best to stay on higher ground and use Observation to mark them. When using Observation, Samurai will be identified by a helmet icon above their heads.

    First Samurai

The first Samurai in Amagasaki Castle is located in the northwest corner of the inner grounds. To take him out, try getting to higher ground and going for an assassination. You might be able to eliminate him in one move, but if not, be ready for a fight to finish the job. Just be careful if you’re spotted, the alarm will go off, making things much more difficult.

    Second Samurai

The second Samurai in Amagasaki Castle is in the southwest part of the inner grounds. Like with the others, it’s best to get to higher ground and ambush him from above. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a clean kill, but be prepared to fight if necessary.

    Third Samurai

The third Samurai patrols the northeast section of the inner castle grounds, near the viewpoint tower. As always, find a good vantage point or set up an ambush. You might land a clean kill, but if not, be ready to finish the fight.

    Fourth Samurai

The fourth Samurai is in the northeast section of the castle’s outer area. Take them out, but be mindful of the tight space. Calling in any allies you’ve gathered can be helpful for crowd control if things get chaotic.

    Fifth Samurai

The fifth Samurai is located in the northwest section of the castle’s outer area. Set up an ambush and go for an assassination. You might take them out in one strike, but if not, be ready to finish the fight.

Decided that degrees were as useful as extra lives in a Mario game-totally unnecessary! I’m diving into the extravagant universe of my favourite game, Assassin’s Creed, which lets me roam the world without actually paying for plane tickets. Hodophile by nature and aspiring to get lost in Hang Sơn Đoòng cave in Vietnam someday!
