Crafted by combining Gunpowder and a Large Barrel, hunters can carry up to 20 of these bombs, making them a reliable tool for strategic attacks and ambushes.
How to Use Large Barrel Bomb
In Monster Hunter Wilds, you can lift and roll the Large Barrel Bomb by pressing the button. Alternatively, selecting it from the Item Bar and holding the button lets you pick it up as you take it out.
To roll the bomb with better precision, use Focus Mode, which helps you aim its direction. However, keep in mind that your movement speed will be reduced while carrying it, so using Focus Mode is recommended for better control. If you’ve already placed the bomb, you can retrieve it by holding down the button, whether it’s on the ground or being carried.
The Large Barrel Bomb deals a fixed 80 damage to any monster caught in its explosion, regardless of its type. Additionally, if it detonates in a grassy area, it will ignite the surroundings, causing continuous fire damage.

Just be careful when detonating the bomb near a sleeping monster. If your weapon strike accidentally hits the monster instead of the bomb, the monster will wake up and only take normal damage, wasting the chance for a doubled blast. To avoid this, it’s safer to simply roll the bomb into position rather than attacking it directly.
