As you work to free Hans from his prison, you’ll need to seek out allies. While you’ll eventually gain the support of nobles and lords, your journey begins in the depths of the gutter. This leads you to Goatskin, a man you’re tasked with finding during the Into the Underworld quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
The game gives you a broad search area within Kuttenberg, and even after you manage to find someone who can tell you his whereabouts, it’s not immediately clear how to reach him. We’ll walk you through the steps to help you continue on your quest.
Goatskin’s Location in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
One thing you’ll quickly discover about Goatskin is his involvement with one of the women at the nearby bathhouse, so head there next. Start by speaking with Hanka and asking about Goatskin, and she’ll tell you that it’s Mary he’s involved with. When you talk to Mary, she’ll initially refuse to give you any information, but passing a speech check will convince her to talk. Even if you fail the check, you can still follow the steps below to track him down.
Mary will direct you to a barn with an open panel at the back, but the catch is that the yard with the entrance is completely inaccessible via any of the doors. Instead, you’ll need to go to the tailor next door and sneak into their yard. Be cautious, as this will be during the night, and trespassing will be an issue.
Once in the barn, climb to the top floor. There, you’ll find a hole that lets you drop into the locked-off yard, from which you can easily climb into Goatskin’s hideout. If you arrive too early, you may have to wait for him to appear, but he will always show up eventually.
Finding Goatskin Directly (Daytime)
If you want to bypass speaking with locals, setting a trap, or following his girlfriend when she meets him, you can directly go to Goatskin’s location.
Goatskin can be found at the top of a barn in the northwest corner of the search area, just north of the Black Horse Tavern. He’s there during the day, but he’s absent at night. To reach him, enter the barn behind the Tailor, then climb the ladder to the loft (note that this is a restricted area).
Cross the barn’s upper floor, and at the end, you’ll be able to drop down into a courtyard that is otherwise inaccessible. In the courtyard, climb onto the carriage, then use it to reach the window and climb into the adjacent barn. Inside the barn, you’ll find Goatskin during the day.
If he’s not there, advance the time. Be sure to save before speaking with him. If you succeed in the skill checks, he’ll reveal Samuel’s location, or you can bribe him for “only” 150 Groschen to get the information. If you fail the skill checks, he’ll demand 500 Groschen instead.
