It is possible to obtain a drivable tank in the game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 DMZ by finding all the repair kits for the vehicle and successfully completing the assigned missions on the Iron Citadel map. All four of these can appear at Changan Air Base. In this guide, you’ll learn where to find each part, how to reach the underground tank depot, and how to repair the tank so you can drive it out of the base.
How to Repair and Drive the Tank
The drivable tank from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 DMZ is an excellent vehicle that will allow you to attack other players and make things difficult for them. However, obtaining the vehicle requires some effort from the player’s side. You should find four repair items at Changan Air Base, perform certain segments of the Iron Citadel mission, and go to the underground tank depot. Once you repair the tank, you may take it out of the base and use it during the deployment.
How to Find All Four Tank Parts
Step number one is collecting the four parts that need to be used to repair the tank: water pump, alternator, spark plugs, and battery. The most suitable place to look for those parts is at Changan Air Base in the Iron Citadel mission, because all four parts are available there.
Finding the parts is not always an easy task; therefore, shelves, floors, rooftops, and little tents should be checked. It is worth noticing that parts do not spawn in backpacks or bags but on the ground in the open. Another useful tip is using the rooftops by moving from one to another to cover several buildings quickly. There is no need to collect all the parts in one deployment; only one part can be found and put in the Secure Slot before extraction.
Water Pump Location

To find the location of the water pump, look for houses close to the Changan Air Base where you can reach the rooftops. Explore the tents, since it is here that the water pump will appear. Some rooftops are connected to each other in such a way that you can climb from one rooftop to another without having to go to the ground level. Use this opportunity to increase your area of coverage in the search for the water pump.
Alternator Location

The alternator could appear in the smaller bunkers located on the lower-right side of the Changan Air Base. First, you should check the two bunkers that do not require any key and cannot be opened through a door breach. If you fail to find it here, then you should move to the middle bunker where the alternator is located on the workbench. The door breach might be required to get inside the middle bunker.
Spark Plugs Location

It is also possible to locate the spark plugs near the air base. Look for the spark plugs in the same general vicinity as the alternator, including any subterranean regions and bunkers. Searching in the armory is an option, but getting there may prove tough. It’s best to start searching in other more easily accessible regions. If you cannot find the spark plugs, you should extract and redeploy.
Battery Location

The battery will be another important component needed to repair your tank. As per the guide, it is the simplest one among the four components that will be available. Go down into the underground bunker of the Changan Air Base and start searching near the borders of the area. Look at the ground since it can spawn here. Collecting all four components and then extracting yourself will help you save them for the next mission.
How to Reach the Tank in Iron Citadel

Once you have acquired all four parts, begin another deployment and play the Iron Citadel level. You have to complete this level first before you can get to the underground tank depot. Find the access card in the four designated buildings. After acquiring the card, proceed to the central building in Changan Air Base and take the stairs. It is here that you can upgrade the card from purple to legendary and thus access the underground bunker. You will encounter a locked door that needs a code to open.
How to Find the Door Code
Check out the minimap and locate the three locations that have been highlighted with notes. Go to those locations and take note of the code, which is revealed by reading the note. Do so carefully since there are some AI enemies around. All the codes will be revealed when you have taken notes from all three locations and the code will be visible to the left of your screen.
How to Defeat the Juggernaut
A Juggernaut guards the next section, so don’t rush straight through the doorway. Its Gatling gun can deal heavy damage and may kill you before you have a chance to react. One way to make this fight easier is to use the corner near the doorway as cover. Stand slightly to the side and shoot the Juggernaut while keeping most of your body protected. Thermites can also help you deal damage. Once the Juggernaut is defeated, you can move through the armory and continue toward the tank depot. You may find other useful items in the armory, but collecting them isn’t necessary for repairing the tank.
How to Repair the Tank
Before approaching the tank, clear out the nearby AI enemies. They can shoot the vehicle and damage it before you even start driving, so it’s worth taking a moment to secure the area. Next, move to the rear of the tank and interact with the small compartment. Insert the four parts you collected earlier: the water pump, alternator, spark plugs, and battery.
Once all four parts are installed, the tank will be ready to drive. You can also bring a friend along to operate the turret while you drive, making it easier to deal with enemies during your escape.
How to Get the Tank Out of Changan Air Base
After repairing the tank, look for the red button near the hangar door and use it to open the exit. You need to move quickly because the tank starts with limited health and fuel. Drive toward the exit and give the doors a little time to open if they don’t respond immediately. In the original run, the doors opened after roughly 10–15 seconds, although this might not work the same way in every deployment. Once you’re outside, turn right and head toward the SAM sites along the edge of the base. This route provides a way to leave the air base without spending too much time searching for another exit.
