Path of Exile 2 Sacrificial Heart – What to Do with It

In Path of Exile 2, leveling up isn’t the only way to grow stronger. Upgrading your gear often has a greater impact than gaining a few extra levels. However, if you’re looking to unlock additional passives, the game offers various ways to earn extra points. One such method is through the Sacrificial Heart.

The Sacrificial Heart is a permanent campaign bonus that provides a straightforward boost to your power. Like many features in PoE 2, figuring out how to best utilize it can be a bit challenging because the Sacrificial Heart’s purpose might not be immediately obvious, but it’s a valuable tool for enhancing your character’s build. This guide explains how to obtain the item and how to use it effectively.

How to Get the Sacrificial Heart in Path of Exile 2

The Sacrificial Heart is a random drop from enemies in 400 BiC Utzaal and Aggorat(Act 3), similar to the relics from the Ancient Vows quest in Path of Exile 2. It may take some time to obtain, but once you do, head directly to the specified location to use it. Remember that empty instances reset every 8–15 minutes, so once you find the stone altar, avoid leaving the map instance for too long, or you’ll have to locate it again.

How to Use the Sacrificial Heart in Path of Exile 2

After exploring Aggorat and getting  the Sacrificial Heart: a quest item that grants two weapon set passive skill points when sacrificed at the correct ritual site, here are the steps you’ll need to follow:

  • The ritual site is located on the same map, Aggorat, but finding it may take some time due to the procedurally generated nature of the maps in Path of Exile 2. Keep exploring until you discover an altar that contains a sacrificial dagger and a spot to place the Sacrificial Heart.
  • Although the map is procedurally generated, every time we’ve found the ritual site, it has been located up a set of stairs to the northeast. Once you ascend, the ritual site will be in its own distinct area, similar to the one shown in the image above.
  • To make your search easier, open your transparent map and look for a green exclamation point marker and stairs leading northeast. These markers and stairs can be easy to overlook on your mini-map, so you may have already passed by them!
  • Once you locate the altar, pick up the sacrificial dagger and place the Sacrificial Heart on it. Interact with the heart to complete the quest and earn two weapon set passive skill points.

Remember: After defeating the Act 3 boss, the return portal from 400 BiC to the Ziggurat Encampment will automatically send you back to the start of Act 1, but on Cruel difficulty. To use the Sacrificial Heart without having to fight through Act 3 Cruel, simply use a waypoint to teleport back to Aggorat in Act 3 Normal.

Path of Exile 2: Tips for Success

Exploring Aggorat can be tricky, but here are some helpful tips to guide you:

  • Take Your Time Exploring: Avoid rushing through Aggorat or nearby areas. Rare enemies often drop important items, so be sure to thoroughly clear mobs.
  • Watch the Minimap: The minimap is essential for finding waypoints, altars, and objectives.
  • Seek Assistance: If you’re stuck, check the Path of Exile 2 community forums or ask for help in the in-game chat.

That’s everything you need to know about the Sacrificial Heart, including how to find it and use it effectively to boost your character in Path of Exile 2.
