One of the first decisions in Code Vein 2 that you must make is whether or not to save Noah, which will affect your gameplay. This guide will cover when the decision to save Noah appears, what rewards will be earned by traveling to the past; how to fight the Dejected Assailant; and why it is important to complete this event in order to unlock certain endings.
Timeline Decision: Saving Noah
In Code Vein 2, you’ll have a big decision to make in the final quest on MagMell Island. After completing the cutscenes and coming back to the present, you can then return the Time Rift, travel back, and save Noah.
There are four different timeline missions; these missions will contribute toward the ending based on how they were completed. Completing these in a sequential order as they appear will have all three endings in a single playthrough, including progress toward the secret ending, making them well worth completing.
Rewards for Traveling to the Past

Return to the past and you’ll be rewarded with a Battle Axe: Idris’s Conceit, and a new blood code before you engage in combat with the Dejected Assailant. After obtaining these items proceed down the stairway to fight the boss.
Dejected Assailant Boss Fight and Rewards

After coming down the stairs, you will encounter the Dejected Assailant boss. This fight will pose increased challenges compared to previous fights and it has two phases.
In phase one, the boss has a three hit attack combo with an opening at the end. In phase two, the boss adds an explosive attack giving him four hits, so you should try to be patient and attack only after the whole combo sequence is completed.
You get a second blood code after defeating the boss. When you come back to the present timeline, you’ll find a Stone Shield in a chest at the boss arena and Noah becomes available as a new companion. This timeline change helps unlock the game’s secret ending, so it is definitely worth completing.
