In The Beast quest from Avatar: From the Ashes, you follow So’lek as he hunts down a dangerous Mongkwan warlord. What starts as a simple search quickly turns into a mission filled with clues, combat, and tough choices. How to Start The Beast Quest
So’lek is tracking the Beast, one of the three Mongkwan warlords now active in the area. Using your Na’vi Vision, you’ll need to look around for clues and find the right path on your own. The first real sign of the Beast shows up when you come across a massive dirt trail carved through the jungle. It’s clear that the RDA used this path to move heavy machinery. As you follow the trail, So’lek starts uncovering proof that the RDA have been capturing different animals along the way.
Keep exploring the facility for any signs of them
You have two ways to get inside. You can charge straight through the front door and fight off the mechs and turrets, or you can take a quieter approach. Water is spraying from a broken pipe right onto the door’s control panel, so you’ll need to find a nearby shut-off valve first before you can break in safely.
Inside, it becomes clear that the RDA are experimenting on Pandora’s most dangerous animals, turning them into weapons and machines, with help from the Mongkwan. As you move deeper into the facility, you’re suddenly ambushed by a large pack of Hell Hounds ready to attack.
Look for a way to free the Fireback Mastodon trapped inside the area
Inside the Laser Ore Processor, you come face to face with a massive Fireback Mastodon. The RDA have strapped machines onto its body, forcing it into a violent rage. Devices attached to its feet and back let the RDA shock the creature from afar, pushing it to attack anything in sight.
So’lek’s goal isn’t to kill the mastodon, it’s to free it. That means you’ll need to stay out of the way of its huge tusks and lure it into smashing through support pillars. This stuns the beast just long enough for you to destroy the machinery controlling it.
From time to time, RDA soldiers rush in to stop you, but the mastodon is just as deadly to them as it is to you if you position yourself well and avoid its wide, sweeping attacks. As the fight goes on, So’lek tears off more and more of the control devices. Eventually, the mastodon crashes through a wall, and you’ll have to chase it into the next room to continue the rescue.
Climb up to reach the mastodon and help set it free
To remove the last bits of machinery, you need to climb onto the mastodon’s back. To do that, wait for the creature to smash through walls and pipes, which creates paths you can climb in the massive room. While you’re doing this, RDA soldiers keep attacking, firing rockets and assault weapons to try and stop you, so you’ll need to keep moving and stay alert as you make your way up.
