Red Dead Redemption 2 Homestead Stash Locations

There are many treasures hidden around the world of Red Dead Redemption 2 (RDR2) and tracking down homestead stashes can be one of the simplest ways of acquiring the Breaking and Entering trophy. There are seven total eligible homesteads in the game; however, only four of them will be required for the trophy. This guide will help you locate each homestead, explain when it becomes available, and help you secure the stash without missing your chance.

New Hanover – Van Horn Mansion

On the beach to the southeast of Van Horn Trading Post sits a deserted estate owned by 2 drunken men; they received a large sum of money recently and left their cash on the table downstairs in the open.

Arthur can try to sneak in but making noise will alert them. Once alerted, defeating or restraining them will make it easy to obtain the money.

The fact that this location has no puzzles and only two enemy combatants makes it one of the easier Homesteads associated with this achievement.

West Elizabeth – Watson’s Cabin

As you head westward away from Wallace Station on the Little Creek River you will come across a small cabin where a donkey is tied up outside of it. Inside the cabin you will find Mama Watson, an old woman with very little vision. She thinks Arthur has come to make a deposit into her cellar.

Heading downstairs reveals a stash containing cash, jewelry, and a Semi-Automatic Shotgun. Taking any of these items advances progress toward the achievement.

This location can be revisited multiple times, continuing a short storyline involving the Watson family, though future encounters are more dangerous than the first.

Lemoyne – Lonnie’s Shack

Not far from Pleasance, an abandoned shack becomes relevant during Chapter 3. Sean MacGuire ropes Arthur into a robbery here, with the building currently occupied by bandits pretending to be more dangerous than they really are.

To access the stash, Arthur must leave one bandit alive and intimidate him into revealing where the loot is hidden inside. Once exposed, the stash is straightforward to collect.

If this robbery is skipped during Chapter 3, the shack doesn’t become useless. Later visits spawn different bandits, allowing the same intimidation method to be used again—this time with the added bonus of a Double-Action Revolver.

Lemoyne – Aberdeen Pig Farm

North of Pleasance lies a farm that looks inviting but quickly proves unsettling. Arthur is welcomed inside by an overweight man and his supposed wife, who offer food and drink.

There are two ways to handle this place. The quiet approach involves entering from the west side and looting a stash box in a side room without alerting the couple. The alternative is staying longer and discovering their true intentions—they drug Arthur and steal his money.

If that happens, players can return later, recover their stolen cash from behind a portrait of their mother, and search the upstairs floorboards for extra jewelry.

Northern Ambarino – Chez Porter

Hidden in the cold wilderness south of Window Rock sits the Porter family homestead, one of the earliest robbery opportunities in the game. Players are naturally directed here during Chapter 2, when Javier Escuella offers to take Arthur along on a robbery if he’s spoken to in camp.

The family speaks in a strange dialect and reacts violently to outsiders. After dealing with them, Arthur can locate a concealed stash containing valuable jewelry, which is later shared with the gang.

This homestead is easy to miss. Skipping Javier’s offer can result in the house being abandoned later on, removing the opportunity entirely. It’s best handled before the gang relocates south.

Lemoyne – Catfish Jacksons

South of Scarlett Meadows, beyond Braithwaite Manor, sits Catfish Jacksons, home to Algie Davison and his son Nate. This location overlaps with a Chapter 4 debt collection mission, but it can also be robbed separately.

Arthur may face resistance from either resident. Inside, Nate can be threatened into revealing where a small amount of money is hidden. His room also contains rare cigarette cards.

The payout is modest, but looting anything here still counts toward the trophy and adds narrative weight to Arthur’s choices.

Roanoke Ridge – Willard’s Rest (Chapter 6 Only)

The final homestead works differently from the rest. Willard’s Rest can’t be accessed until Chapter 6, during the mission involving a widow named Charlotte.

Arthur helps her learn to hunt and defend herself. After returning later, he’s allowed to stay the night in her home. The following morning, he finds a letter and a gifted stash of money waiting for him.

Although no crime is committed, this rewards counts toward the homestead total required for the achievement.

Final Notes

You only need four homesteads, so there’s no requirement to complete them all. Completing earlier ones reduces the risk of losing access due to story events, while Willard’s Rest provides a non-violent option later on.
