It is very easy for players who are not familiar with triggering the Where Winds Meet‘s Path of Heroes quest to overlook the event. This guide walks you through where to go, the time when players will find it, and details on how to complete each section of the quest, from the initial village scene to the final combat encounter.
Arriving at Harvestfall Village
Upon reaching Harvestfall Village, you may feel that very little activity is taking place. There are no NPCs hanging around, making the area look totally deserted. However, as long as you see the encounter name showing on your screen, then you are in the right place. The lack of NPCs is part of how the encounter works and not a glitch.
The quest description indicates that this event will only occur during a specific time of day. You’ll need to change the in-game clock to Chen Hour. Once the time is set correctly, the children involved in the debate about their fathers will appear near the village. Talking to them activates and begins the quest. Also, once you have completed this interaction, all remaining objectives will be available.
Letter Exchanges and Conversations
After the initial dialogue, the encounter turns into a short chain of errands. You’ll be asked to hand over letters by speaking to a few nearby NPCs. These conversations reward you with items that must be returned to the appropriate characters.
It’s important to talk to each character again after turning items in. One of the conversations includes a prompt asking if you’re ready to continue. Confirming this is required to move forward.
Searching the New Area
Once the letters are dealt with, you’ll be moved to a different location and asked to look for evidence or traces. An interaction point can be found close to a rock in this area. Collecting it allows the encounter to continue.
From there, you’ll follow a character along a set route. This path leads directly into combat, so be ready to deal with a small group of enemies. After clearing them, speak with the character to receive further guidance.
The next objective sends you to a nearby spot that’s easy to reach, especially if you use the wind jump ability. Here, you’re asked to track down the source of an unusual noise. Using Wind Sense reveals a very small object hidden near a rock. Picking up the bag found there and returning it completes this portion of the encounter.
Meeting Near the Staircase
After the bag is turned in, the objective shifts again. You’ll be directed toward a staircase located slightly northwest of your position. Another conversation takes place here, leading into a short investigation sequence that rewards a Dark Fragment. During this exchange, you’ll be told that the target has escaped, setting up the final pursuit.
Before the chase begins, make sure to go through all available dialogue options with the character. There are three in total, and selecting each one is necessary to trigger the next part.
Once the conversation is complete, the character will begin walking along a trail. Follow closely, as this path leads to the final combat encounter.
Final Combat and Completion
At the end of the trail, you’ll encounter several enemies along with a tougher mini boss. This enemy is noticeably stronger than standard foes, so expect the fight to be more demanding.
After defeating the group and the mini boss, speak with the nearby characters one last time. This final interaction completes the Path of Heroes encounter and grants the rewards.
