The restoration of the Bell of Demoncalm is undoubtedly one of the more useful side tasks in Where Winds Meet, especially if you’re having difficulties with Qinghe’s tougher World Bosses. This guide will teach you where the bell is located, the method of climbing the ruined tower, the materials needed to repair it, and how to use it to trigger its powerful debuff.
Bell of Demoncalm Overview
The Bell of Demoncalm sits at the very top of Moonveil Mountain inside a battered Peace Bell Tower. Ringing it applies a region-wide effect that weakens every World Boss in Qinghe, lowering their defense and damage. You’ll have to repair the bell before it will do its full job.
How to Reach the Tower
From Blissful Retreat, start moving straight south and work your way up the rising path. The path eventually leads you to a Waystone that marks you’re close to your destination, with the damaged Peace Bell Tower standing just beyond it. When you reach the entrance of the tower, you can speak with the bellwright, who gives a brief account of how the structure ended up in its current state.
How to Get Inside and Climb
From the tower’s entrance, move left to the scaffolding and climb up. Slip inside through the broken wall and follow the stairs until you reach a shattered window. Step out, look up for the grapple point, and hit G to pull yourself higher. Once you’re on the roof, turn right and cross the rough wooden planks, then climb the next set of stairs. Go out through another damaged window, use the cloth-wrapped grapple point, and the opening ahead will bring you straight into the room where the Bell of Demoncalm rests.
Note: without the Bronze Bell Fragment, you’ll only be able to collect some clues and a few chests. The main repairs and the bell’s full effect require the fragment.
What you Need to Repair the Bell
Restoring and ringing the Bell of Demoncalm requires the Bronze Bell Fragment. The Bronze Bell Fragment is part of the Melodies of Peace system, and it will only be available after you completed The Music of Yongping and opened up all Harmony nodes, which means clearing all Qinghe Oddities. Now that you have finished, just return to Qi Sheng’s stall, then select the table for the Bronze Bell Fragment (E).
Final Steps to Restore and Ring the Bell
Once you obtain the Bronze Bell Fragment, use the nearby Waystone to teleport back to the Peace Bell Tower and speak with the bellwright again. After that, climb back up to the bell chamber, place the fragment to finish repairing the bell and ring the Bell of Demoncalm. This will apply a weakening effect to every World Boss in Qinghe, making the fights significantly easier, especially if you’re not at the recommended level yet.
