However, the game doesn’t explain the process very clearly, and many players miss the steps needed to unlock full, fall-damage-free flight. How to Unlock Meteor Flight (Lightness Skill / Afterglow Pendant)
To unlock the Meteor Flight, visit the pond location in the first Region and find the fisherman character. Normally, you’d encounter him during the initial main quest or side quests, so the game quite often guides you to him. Have a conversation with him to get wind walking fundamental concepts and at the same time, start his mini-test.
The test consists of a basic platforming challenge. To get through the pots, you will have to use your double or triple jump and jump across the gaps. It’s very important to land on the pots in the correct order. If you happen to fall, no need to worry, you will come back to the last pot you were on. After completing the jumps, take the booklet that the quest provides you and read it. When you have done the trial and read the booklet, you will be able to use Meteor Flight. It is a very simple skill of aerial movement which allows one to float and glide for some time.
How to Unlock Meteor Flight Fully in a Region
Currently, you can use the Meteor Flight; however, if you jump from a considerable height, you will receive fall damage. To get full access to a damage-free flight, you need to progress further in the region. Your goal is to reach Regional Progress Level 4, which requires 4,000 Discovery Points. These points can be collected just by discovering the region, finishing blue book quests, activating fast-travel points, collecting curiosities, clearing out enemy camps, and even killing hidden world bosses. Your total Discovery score will increase with almost everything you do.
After you score 4,000 points, an item named Afterglow Pendant will be given to you. Go back to the fisherman who gave you the pendant and hand it over to him. He will then allow you to use the Meteor Flight for that area, thus allowing you to glide and fly without the worry of fall damage. Keep in mind that this upgrade works only in the region where you earned it. When you move to a new region, you will need to reach Level 4 exploration there as well to unlock Meteor Flight again.
