Acquiring all weapon arts in Where Winds Meet is more than equipping yourself with new gear— it’s a way to define the way your character fights, interacts, explores, or simply grows. Each weapon has its identity, and each martial art has a location tied to it. This guide expands on how each style can be earned throughout the game, whether that’s through a quest, stealth infiltrating some stealth and other hidden challenges that it has.
How Weapon Skills Work
Weapon skills aren’t interchangeable because each belongs to one of the weapon families. Because of this, learning a skill usually means expanding into another style you can fight with, and in some cases, that determines what style or weapon you want to invest in as you go through the story.
Ways to Unlock Weapon Martial Arts
1. Learning From Sects
Another method is to formally join a Sect. Each Sect teaches a single unique weapon art. Simply choose the Sect that offers the style you’re after.
2. Keys, Dungeons & Stealth Challenges
Several martial arts are hidden inside small dungeons scattered around the world. To access these dungeons, you must first collect special keys.
You can earn keys through:
- Certain quests
- Clearing enemy outposts
- Looting chests
Having a key lets you unlock the entrance to a dungeon and try the challenge inside it. The dungeons are designed primarily for stealth. Instead of killing your way through, you have to move past the guards stealthily and reach the boss without being noticed. The final step is to “steal” the martial art by finishing a short mini-game that requires you to watch the boss’s movements.
3. Stealing From Sects
You don’t have to pledge loyalty—some players prefer breaking in. If you infiltrate a Sect’s hidden base and remain undetected, you can steal their martial art just like in dungeon skill thefts.
How to Unlock All Weapons
Below is a list of all the weapons and the steps needed to obtain it.
Panacea Fan

A hybrid long-range/support tool. One ability heals allies around you; the other restores health to both you and whichever teammate has the lowest HP. To unlock it, you can either claim it as a reward after learning Tai Chi from the bear and delivering a bee hive to Qi Cheng, or stteal it from the underground sanctum near Bamboo Abode.
Nameless Sword

Your starting style. Fast, direct, mobile, and ideal for focusing down a single enemy with gap-closing thrusts and evasive counter-strikes.
Nameless Spear

Unlocked very early. Like the sword, this is a nimble melee technique but with longer reach. One skill roots the target briefly while restoring your endurance; another delivers a powerful forward thrust.
Infernal Twinblades

Perfect for players who enjoy fast, relentless offense. Instead of a traditional heavy attack, you build up a Karmic Flame meter that boosts crit rate, crit damage, and grants partial damage immunity. To unlock it, take it early from Qi Cheng, or steal it from the Midnight Mercy Sanctum southwest of Battlecrest Slope in Qinghe (the same direction where you previously unlocked Touch of Death).
Inkwell Fan

A long-range melee blend. This fan style can launch enemies upward or blow them backward with a gust that increases your dodge effectiveness and improves ranged attacks. To unlock it, infiltrate the Silver Needle Sanctum in northern Qinghe, close to Bodhi Sea.
Vernal Umbrella

A ranged-focused umbrella style. One technique plants the umbrella as an autonomous turret while you swap to another weapon; another immobilizes non-boss foes for easy follow-ups. To unlock it, choose it as an early Qi Cheng reward, or visit the Temporal Pavilion in Kaifeng and complete the banquet investigation quest.
You’ll speak with Wang Ping’an, talk to Jiang Ting’er, and gather five clues from NPCs and a wandering cat before deducing the location of the warehouse key. Retrieve the keepsake, then enter the banquet to obtain the art.
Stormbreaker Spear

Built for tanking and high damage. One ability taunts enemies and increases your damage absorption, while another knocks targets down so they take more punishment. To unlock, check your in-game letters upon reaching Level 3. A message from the Raging Tides General grants this martial art for free.
Strategic Sword

A bleed-oriented melee style that encourages sticking close to your opponent and applying pressure until the debuff ramps up. To unlock it, infiltrate Lone Cloud Sanctum near Encircling Lake, southwest of Qinghe.
Heavenquaker Spear

Another spear technique, this one focused on spinning combos. Successful hits strengthen a temporary buff, which powers up the follow-up spinning strike. Both hits can apply bleed. To unlock it steal it from the Raging Tides Sanctum on the east side of Qinghe, just north of Verdant Wilds.
Mortal Rope Dart

A fast, momentum-heavy melee art. The rope dart can yank enemies toward you or pull you toward bosses. It can also summon rats if you spend the art’s special resource, the Token of Gratitude.
To unlock this Mystic Art, you’ll need to begin at the Nine Mortal Ways martial hall located in southern Kaifeng. As you approach, a guard stops you, which leads to an encounter with a mysterious elder who demonstrates how disguises function. From there, head to the Fairgrounds and speak with Wuyan at Lin’s Cosmetics; completing her task will give you access to disguise crafting.
After that, watch a disciple near the martial hall and create a portrait of them, then bring it back to Wuyan so she can prepare the disguise. Once you have it, return to the hall, but make sure you use a different route so you don’t run into the same disciple and break the disguise. Once inside, follow the required steps to obtain the rope, which completes the process and grants you the art.
Soulshade Umbrella

Another umbrella-based support art. One skill homes in on allies who need healing; the other turns the umbrella into a stationary healing/support turret while you continue fighting with a different weapon. To unlock it, travel west of Mistveil Forest in Kaifeng to a small village. Enter the building with an open upper floor, head inside, and go down the stairs and ladder to find the umbrella master.
Thundercry Blade

A heavy, deliberate sword art that trades speed for large sweeping damage. Its signature ability creates a shield equal to a quarter of your max HP and drags in nearby enemies before detonating a devastating AoE strike. To unlock it you can select it as a reward from Qi Cheng early in the game, or later, infiltrate the Well of Heaven martial camp in southern Kaifeng. Traversal abilities are restricted here, and rooftop sentries have sharp vision.
