A Reveal in Ruins Quest Guide
In the “A Reveal in Ruins” quest, your task is to find an ESR Analyser somewhere inside a pharmacy in Buried City. Lance, the trader, mentions that he had a brand-new ESR Analyser ready for a big reveal, but it suddenly went missing. Now it’s up to you to track it down. Once you recover the analyser and hand it back to Lance, you’ll complete the quest and earn 33,000 XP along with a Tempest I as your reward.
Step 1: Head to the Pharmacy
Open your map and look for the pharmacy location in Buried City. Once you reach it, you’ll need to breach the front door to get inside. Be careful, as there will be enemies running around, so keep your weapons ready.
Step 2: Find the ESR Analyser
As soon as you’re in, make your way to the main counter. You’ll find the ESR Analyser sitting right on top. Just walk up and pick it up, no extra steps needed to collect it. Use the torch, as inside the pharmacy, it will be dark.
Step 3: Deliver It to Lance
After collecting the analyser, return to Lance and hand it over to complete the quest. Just be careful, as you have to complete all the steps in a single run, or it will not be complete.
A Reveal in Ruins Quest Bug
If you get the quest item, your quest log will update the first time you interact with it. But the game actually expects you to press the action button twice, once to trigger the update, and a second time to properly take the item into your inventory.
Now the quest step for “search for the ESR analyser” is marked as complete, but when you go back to the pharmacy, you can’t pick it up again. The ESR is still sitting on the table, but the game doesn’t give you any option to interact with it. If this happens to you, you’re not missing anything; it’s just a bug.
Right now, the only workaround is to wait. Either wait for another player to open the box so you can quietly grab the item yourself without them noticing, or wait for someone to pick it up and then take them out quickly so you can loot it from their body. Otherwise, you’ll have to hold out for an official fix in a future patch.
