How to Get The Substation Repair Kit and Substation Fuse – The Outer Worlds 2

If you come across the broken substation in The Outer Worlds 2, you will need to fix it to restore power to nearby areas and unlock some great rewards. This guide will show you how to get the Substation Repair Kit and Substation Fuse, how to repair the substation step-by-step, and what bonuses you will get for doing it, including a free Corrosive Shock Machine Gun and access to the Befuddled Fisherman’s house filled with valuable loot.

How To Get The Substation Repair Kit and Substation Fuse

In Outer Worlds 2, if your character has Engineering 3 or the Innovative Trait, you can repair the substation right away. Simply climb the ladder to the substation and interact with the control panel to repair it.

Substation Repair Kit Location

If you don’t have the skills or the trait to repair it immediately, you will need to find a Substation Repair Kit first. Go to the side of the substation and look for a metal grate. When you get close, it should highlight. Interact with it; you will need either Sneak 2 or the Nimble Trait to open it. Crawl through the opening to enter the substation and grab the Substation Repair Kit inside. Then, head back out the same way, climb the ladder next to the door, and use the kit on the panel to complete the repair.

Substation Fuse Location

Once the substation is repaired, you will receive a free Corrosive Shock Machine Gun. It’s a powerful early-game weapon that works great against heavily armoured enemies. Next, look for the Substation Fuse near the two lockers. Place it in the charging station and wait until it becomes a Charged Substation Fuse. Then remove it and insert it into the empty fuse slot to power up the door.
