All Reliquary Puzzle Solutions (Strength, Resilience, Courage, Compassion & Faith) – Ghost of Yotei

In Ghost of Yotei, Reliquaries are special puzzle locations scattered across the game’s world, each tied to one of five virtues: Strength, Resilience, Courage, Compassion, and Faith. Solving these puzzles rewards you with unique charms. Each Reliquary presents a set of statues or elements that must be positioned or activated in a certain way, often guided by a short riddle. This guide will walk you through the exact locations and step-by-step solutions for all five Reliquaries.

All Reliquary Puzzle Solutions in Ghost of Yotei

In Ghost of Yotei, there are five special puzzles called Reliquaries, each hidden in a different region. Solving them gives you a charm, and if you solve all five, you will unlock the Child of the Mountain trophy. The puzzles involve turning wolf statues in the right direction based on a short riddle. Here’s how to find and solve each one in simple steps:

Reliquary of Strength – Ishikari Plain

You will find the Reliquary of Strength puzzle north of the Matsumae Encampment and east of Ishikari Market.

Riddle:
The mountain raised the boy as her own
Demons looked away from them in fear
But the wolf watched them both, ready to provide aid

Solution:
There are four special statues – the boy (front left), demons (back left & back right), and the wolf (unmasked).

  • The boy and both demons should face away from the reliquary.
  • The wolf should face toward the reliquary.
Turning one statue also turns the one to its right (counterclockwise) 180°, so go around in that direction and adjust them step-by-step.

Reliquary of Resilience – Tokachi Range

Head northwest from the Grasslands through Serpent’s Pass. Stay along the right edge of the map to find the reliquary on a small hill.

Riddle:
Within the caverns of Mount Yotei, a lost boy surrendered to a tired sleep
The wolves stood guard
Looking toward the mountain

Solution:
All four wolf statues need to face inward, toward the reliquary. But there’s a twist: when you turn one statue 90°, the statue to its right (counterclockwise) turns 180°.
To solve it easily, go counterclockwise and try to get all the statues either facing inward or outward, adjusting as needed.

Reliquary of Courage – Yotei Grasslands

You will find this one early in the game, west of Yotei’s Shadow Inn, near a river and some trees.

Riddle:
A boy was lost and alone
But wolves came from every corner to guide him
Their eyes gazing at the true Mount Yotei

Solution:
Just turn all four wolf statues to face west, toward Mount Yotei. Each statue is on a path around the reliquary and can be turned on its own.

Reliquary of Compassion – Teshio Ridge

This one is hidden on the Chilled Peak Shrine Trail, not in the open world. Climb the trail, slide down a snowy slope, then go left around a frozen pond to find it.

Riddle:
The mountain took pity on the boy with no home
And lit her fire to keep the boy warm
The wolves gathered around, eyes on the mountain’s hearth

Solution:
Use the nearby Fire Arrows to light the wood under each statue. This activates them and also helps prevent frostbite.
All four statues need to face the reliquary, but when you turn one, the one to your left (clockwise) also turns 180°.

  • Pick any statue – turn it twice
  • Move counterclockwise – turn the next one twice
  • Repeat for all four

Reliquary of Faith – Oshima Coast

You will find this one early in Chapter Two, on the eastern side of where you enter Oshima Coast.

Riddle:
The boy-made-man crafted blessings of his own
So others born under Mount Yotei
Will look to the true mountain for strength

Solution:
There are only three wolf statues here. All of them need to face Mount Yotei (north).
When you turn one statue, the two next to it also turn 180°, which can be tricky.

  • Start by getting the left and right statues to face the same way.
  • Then work on the center statue.
  • If things go off, just turn the left and right statues twice each, then go back to the center one.

If you find and solve all the Mountain Reliquary Puzzles, you will unlock the Child of the Mountain trophy. You will also get some great rewards: the fully upgraded Charm of Mount Yotei, which reduces all damage you take, Yotei’s Shelter Hat, Yotei’s Mercy Mask, and the Yotei’s Blessing Weapon Kit.
