Vengeance Is Mine Quest Guide – Dying Light: The Beast

The Vengeance Is Mine quest in Dying Light: The Beast is a mission that takes you through steep climbs, enemy-filled mines, and a betrayal. You’ll face the Baron’s heavily armed men, tricky parkour sections, and even Volatiles along the way. This guide will walk you through the quest step by step, showing you how to survive, what to watch out for, and the rewards you’ll get at the end.

Vengeance Is Mine Quest Guide

Once you accept the quest, head to the parking lot. From here, you’ll need to climb up the hill in front of you. Luckily, the ledges are marked with white paint, so you can easily spot where to climb. Before starting the climb, loot the nearby cars for fuel it’ll save you some trouble later. Then, hop onto the small enclosure and begin your climb to the top. At the top, you’ll meet the Sheriff. But before you can enter the mines, you’ll have to deal with the Baron’s men.

Entering the Mines

Inside the mines, you’ll mostly be fighting the Baron’s men rather than infected. Many of them are armed. Use your guns to drop armed foes, then finish the others with melee weapons.

Navigating the Mines

The mine layout is fairly straightforward. Along the way, you’ll see infected trapped under UV lights. If you want extra loot, lure them into the light and finish them off while they’re stuck. Later, you’ll reach another mixed area with both armed men and infected. The UV lights will block the infected at first, so deal with the gunmen first. After that, either fight your way through the infected or simply sprint past them.

You’ll also run into a parkour section. All ledges are marked, so it’s an easy climb start from the front-right ledge. From here, it’s mostly infected ahead. Expect two Goons plus waves of infected.

Reaching the Baron’s Hub

Eventually, you’ll run into two more of the Baron’s men. Soon after, you’ll reach the Baron’s main hub inside the cave. This area is crawling with enemies, most of them armed. Keep guns ready in case you’re spotted, because melee alone won’t cut it here. Once the room is clear, activate the terminal near the cell in the center to move the quest forward.

Betrayal of the Sheriff

The Sheriff ends up betraying you and siding with the Baron. After the cutscene, you’ll need to climb out. There’s a parkour path on the right side follow it. Move carefully, though, because you’ll pass near a Volatile lair. Turn off your flashlight and climb down so they don’t notice you. Wait for them to move, then sneak past using rocks for cover. Once you’re clear of the lair, you’re safe to sprint the rest of the way out.

Once you make it out of the cave, your next objective is to track down the Sheriff. Head back to the town hall and speak with Jacob. Instead of finding the Sheriff waiting for you, Jacob explains that he’s already fled. That wraps up the Vengeance Is Mine quest. As a reward you’ll walk away with the Survivor Shoes, a Co-op Lootbox if you played with friends, plus a bonus of 10,000 XP and 750 Old World Money.
