In this mission of Borderlands 4, you’ll face a choice that decides Quent’s fate. Depending on your actions, you can either save him and bring relief to the group or fail to stop the machine in time and watch him die. The outcome changes the dialogue and the mood of the story, but the mission rewards stay the same, no matter what you choose.
Save Quent in Endings Borderlands 4
If you manage to save Quent, he survives, and the entire group feels a sense of relief. Zane reassures him with a warm, “That’s right, me boyo. You’re safe.” Both Levaine and your character also share in that relief, with the dialogue reflecting their collective sense of comfort and gratitude.
The key difference between saving Quent and losing him is mostly in the tone of the dialogue. Saving him keeps the mood hopeful and supportive, whereas losing him shifts the atmosphere entirely.

When the sequence starts, you’ll have just 60 seconds to stop the machine before it kills Quent. To pull it off, you’ll need to do two things: pull five levers and destroy four glowing pipes.
The good news is you don’t have to do them in any specific order you can mix it up however you like. Just keep an eye out for the glowing pipes and the levers above, and make sure you hit all of them before the timer runs out. If you manage to get both tasks done in time, Quent will survive.
Loose Quent in Endings Borderlands 4
If you don’t manage to save him, Quent doesn’t make it. Zane immediately blames himself, saying, “This is my fault. Should never’ve brought him here. Right selfish.” His guilt weighs heavily on the group, and the mood turns grim.
Instead of relief, this path fuels anger and grief. Zane and the others direct that pain toward Callis, vowing to take him down no matter what. No matter what choice you make whether Quent survives or not the rewards you get for finishing the mission stay exactly the same.
