How To Get All 8 Tool Pouch & Crafting Kit Upgrades – Hollow Knight Silksong

In Hollow Knight: Silksong, you can carry more tools by upgrading your Tool Pouch and getting Crafting Kits. There are 8 upgrades in total, and each one makes your tools better and more useful. Some of these upgrades can be bought from shopkeepers, while others you get by finishing quests or finding special items. In this guide, we will show you how to get all 8 upgrades, one by one, in a simple and easy way.

How To Get All 8 Tool Pouch & Crafting Kit Upgrades

There are  8 Tool Pouch & Crafting Kit Upgrades in Hollow Knight Silksong. Here’s how you can find all the Tool Pouch upgrades to carry more tools in Silksong.

Upgrade 1 – Buy from the Forge Daughter

You can buy your first Crafting Kit from the Forge Daughter in Deep Docks for 180 Rosaries. You will find her after you unlock the Silkspear and free the Bell Beast. Her exact location is marked on the map above.

Upgrade 2 – Buy from Mort

Head to Pilgrim’s Rest in the Far Fields. You will need 30 Rosaries just to enter the area, and then 160 Rosaries more to buy the Crafting Tool from Mort’s shop. It keeps you from being knocked back when you hit enemies, and you won’t knock yourself back either.

Upgrade 3 – Win Loddi’s Mini-Game

Look for Loddi in The Marrow. He will challenge you to a mini-game where you have to throw 15 pins and hit the target. If you beat it, you will get a Tool Pouch upgrade as your reward.

Upgrade 4 – Complete the Crawbug Clearing Wish

To do this, talk to Creige at Halfway Home in the center of Greymoor. He will ask you to collect 25 Ragpelts. You can get these by defeating Crawbugs:

  • Regular Craws drop 1 Ragpelt.
  • Tallcraws and Squatcraws drop 3 each.

Check the roof of Halfway Home – there are usually a couple of Craws up there. Hit them from below, and be patient – Ragpelts float down slowly after you defeat a Craw. Once you give Creige the 25 Ragpelts, he will give you a Crafting Kit that boosts your tool damage.

Upgrade 5 – Complete the “Bugs of Pharloom” Wish

This upgrade comes from completing a long quest called “Bugs of Pharloom”, which you get from Nuu, found on top of a house in Halfway Home (Greymoor).

He will ask you to defeat 100 different enemy types across Pharloom. It’s a long-term goal, so don’t rush it – just keep playing and you will make progress naturally. Once you complete it, you will earn another Tool Pouch upgrade.

Upgrade 6 – Buy from Grindle

You will first need to rescue Grindle from jail in The Marrow – the jail is in a tall room on the far right side of the area.

After rescuing him, he will sell you a tool that acts like a fast throwing knife, letting you throw pins quickly from a distance for decent damage.

Upgrade 7 – Buy from the Architect

In the Underworks area, you will meet an Architect who sells a Crafting Kit for 450 Rosaries. Save up and grab it when you can – it’s another handy upgrade.

Upgrade 8 – Return 20 Fleas to the Caravan

After collecting the 5 Lost Fleas, go back to the Flea Caravan and talk to the Fleamaster. He will invite you to travel with the caravan. If you follow them, they will take you to a new area past Greymoor and Halfway Home, eventually leading you to Bellmont.

To get the locations of all the fleas, read our guide on Hollow Knight Silksong – Flea Locations Guide. As a reward, you will get the Flea Brew charm, which boosts your movement and attack speed. You need to give hive hime again 20 fleas to get a Tool Pouch as a reward. Also, once some time has passed after turning in the fleas, you can go back and collect more for additional rewards. After you have collected all the fleas, return to the area after some time to collect the fleas again.
