If you want to get the 24 Karat Badge in PEAK, you will have to give The Kiln a special sacrifice. To do this, you first need to find the hidden TOMB on the Mesa map, then make your way through dark tunnels. Inside, you will find the Ancient Idol, and your job is to take it safely to the lava. However, the TOMB’s entrance isn’t always open. In this guide, we will explain how to offer The Kiln a worthy sacrifice in the PEAK – 24 Karat Badge.
The Kiln a worthy sacrifice
To get the badge, you will need to make it to the Kiln, but before that, you have to find the TOMB. It’s a hidden spot on the island, and sometimes the entrance might be locked, depending on your luck. You can find the TOMB in the first section of the Mesa map. Look for a hole on the side of a cliff, surrounded by taller hills, that leads underground.
How to Complete The Kiln a worthy sacrifice
Grab a couple of torches before heading in; the first part of the area is really dark. Use them to light your way as you follow a narrow path. Even though it’s a tight and gloomy route, you can’t really get lost. Just be careful not to fall. Keep going until the path ends and you’re standing in front of a huge abyss.
Across the abyss, you will see a door. To reach it, use the ledges along the sides. Make sure your stamina is full, you will need it to avoid falling. Two items will make this part much easier: the Parasol and the Chain Launcher. The Parasol helps you glide across gaps, and the Chain Launcher can pull you to the door once you’re close enough.
Once you are through, follow the path until you find a stone slab with the Ancient Idol on it. Pick up the Idol, but don’t throw it into the lava just yet. First, you need to exit the TOMB. Look for a door just below the platform where you picked up the Idol. The Idol is heavy, but it also protects you from a lot of negative effects. After you leave the TOMB, throw the Idol into the lava to complete the 24 Karat badge.
Bug in The Kiln a worthy sacrifice
Some players might find the entrance to the TOMB bugged. There’s supposed to be a hole near the start of the Mesa, but it’s blocked off by terrain.
The blocked entrance doesn’t open every day. It’s actually random, so if it looks locked, that’s totally normal; it’s not a bug.
You can also access the TOMB by using a seed mod that changes the terrain. They do this by switching to level 6 in the mod’s config. That reveals the entrance and lets them get inside.
