If you want to make your pan stronger and more useful in Prospecting, enchanting is the way to go. It can give your pan special boosts like making it faster, holding more, or even increasing the value of what you find. In this guide, we’ll walk you through everything you need to know about enchanting, from where to get the materials to how the process works and all the different enchantments you can get.
How to Enchant Your Pan
In Prospecting, you can enchant your pan any time, day or night, so you don’t have to wait for a specific time to upgrade it. Before your first enchantment, it’s worth talking to the archaeologist and picking up their quest. Doing this will give you some extra rewards when you enchant. But don’t worry, this step is optional. You can still enchant your pan without starting the quest.
Materials You’ll Need
To enchant your pan, you’ll need either Etherite or Allrite.
- Allrite gives you the rarer, more valuable enchantments.
- Etherite gives you the more common ones.
Where to Find Allrite
Allrite is harder to come by, but there are a few places you can dig for it:
- The Allrite area shown in the video
- Rubble Creek Sands
- Fortune River
Just keep digging in these spots, and you’ll have a chance to find it.
Where to Find Etherite
Etherite is more common and can be found almost anywhere in the game while digging. You’ll just need to keep mining and collecting until you have enough.
How to Enchant Your Pan
Once you have your Etherite or Allrite, it’s time to head to the Enchanting Altar. You can find it in Rubble Creek Deposits. From there, just follow the path shown in the video until you reach the altar.
Here’s how it works:
- Place your pan into the altar.
- Add the enchantment material (Etherite or Allrite).
- The altar will take the material from your inventory and give your pan a random enchantment.
You can repeat this process as many times as you like until you get an enchantment you’re happy with.

Each enchantment boosts your pan in a different way, and they all have different chances of appearing:
