How to Find Grass Seeds in Grounded 2

Grass seeds in Grounded 2 can be less common than grass overall, and you need to be on the lookout to find them! This guide will show you how to find seed bearing grass blades, and where to farm them early and how to distinguish grass seed from other plants that may appear similar like dandelion or husky weed, important materials for crafting or upgrades.

How to Find Grass Seed

Grass may seem to be an obvious or easy resource, but in Grounded 2, grass is far more than just grass. In many survival games, you can simply chop any grass blade to get grass seeds, but in Grounded 2, they do not drop randomly. Grass seeds originate from tall grass blades that have seed clusters at the tops of the blades. These are very easy to miss as they blend in with regular grass quite well.

One of the most reliable spots to farm the seeded grass blades early on is just outside the Ranger Outpost: Snackbar. Most players will take the guided path here while working to figure out how to use the omni-tool, so it’s a good spot to get some grass seeds and get started on crafting upgrades that you will find really useful.

Tips for Spotting and Gathering Seeds

Although very large, grass seeds are hardly visible once they hit the ground. Luckily, the seeds are automatically added to your inventory upon collection, unlike grass planks, which require you to manually carry them. The seed-bearing blades are easiest to spot if you see the seed heads stick above the grass line before you start chopping.

Besides the normal grass and seeded ones, dandelions, and husky weeds are present on the yard. From down below, the plants look quite alike, but they produce weed stems that are very important for the building of structures and the creation of tools at the beginning of the game. Making a distinction would be easy if you look up as the stalk or flower top of each plant can be used as a landmark to spot it from a distance.
