To make your Graviton Spike Exotic hand cannon even stronger, you’ll need to find special hidden upgrades called Intrinsic Upgrades. These upgrades let you tweak parts of the gun like the barrel, magazine, and stock for better performance. One of these secret spots is in Caldera, and finding it will help you unlock the weapon’s full potential. Here’s how to get to the Caldera Exotic Mystery Location and grab your first upgrade.

    Caldera Exotic Mystery Location

If you want to fully unlock the power of the Graviton Spike Exotic hand cannon, you will need to collect a few hidden Intrinsic Upgrades. These special upgrades let you customise parts of the weapon, like its barrel, magazine, and stock. There are three Intrinsic Upgrade locations you need to visit: Caldera, Stellar Sink, and Curtilage Divide. To know more about all the locations, read our article on “Unlock Graviton Spike & All Intrinsic & Catalyst Locations in Destiny 2”

The first Intrinsic Upgrade is hidden in the Caldera area. Head underneath the Aionian base and explore the tunnels down there, you’ll find it along the way. In Caldera, start by landing in the main zone and heading down the stairs. Head left and look for a glowing plant. Now shoot it using the Arc mode of the Graviton Spike. Then, switch to the Stasis mode and shoot it again until it breaks. A Matterspark entrance will appear to your right, go inside in ball form, shoot another plant, and a fan will stop spinning behind you. Walk past it to collect your first Intrinsic Upgrade.

This upgrade lets you switch between two firing modes. Press the [Alternate Weapon Action] button to swap between a fast‑firing Arc mode and a slower, heavier Stasis mode. Getting kills or landing precision hits in one mode will charge up the other mode, unlocking extra effects when you switch.

Decided that degrees were as useful as extra lives in a Mario game-totally unnecessary! I’m diving into the extravagant universe of my favourite game, Assassin’s Creed, which lets me roam the world without actually paying for plane tickets. Hodophile by nature and aspiring to get lost in Hang Sơn Đoòng cave in Vietnam someday!
