Aboard the Cruise Ship, which is one of the most colorful and creatively laid out levels in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3. This walkthrough will guide you through each goal, collectible, and secret item required to thoroughly complete this upscale ocean-based skating paradise. With its multi-level decks, interactive scenery, and tight combo lines, the Cruise Ship remains a fan favorite among both casual players and high-level combo enthusiasts.
Layout and Overview
The Cruise Ship level breaks down into several sections: the main deck and pool, interior lounges, engine room hallways, and bow and stern of the vessel. Rails curl around hot tubs, half-pipes are nestled along stairwells, and kickers are set up for crazy transfers between decks. The level is created with flow in mind, so players will feel urged to chain grinds, manuals, and vert tricks between different ship pieces without losing speed.
Score Challenges
You will need to achieve three fundamental score objectives: High Score (20,000 points), Pro Score (60,000 points), and Sick Score (100,000 points). Combo chaining is, as in most levels, the key. Start your combo at the pool or quarter-pipes on the main deck and ride the rails that border the outer ends in order to continue them. Switch between manual pads and brief wallrides to increase your combos. Apply special tricks repeatedly to rack up your scores fast. For optimal efficiency, cycle the mid-deck by moving from the pool, perimeter grind, reversing to manuals, and hopping over the stairs.
Gather S-K-A-T-E

The S-K-A-T-E alphabet spans both the upper and lower decks:
- S is located above a ledge in the area of the pool. Utilize the adjacent kicker to catch it airborne.
- K is stuck out over the grindable rail along the mid-deck balcony. Come up to speed and ollie into a grind.
- A is located at the bow, stuck out between the two quarter-pipes. Get up to speed and transfer across to grab the one stuck out in the gap.
- The T is way up on the stern. Hit with a series of wallrides and a kicker to access the upper balcony.
- E is just above the door to the engine room. Crawl along the thin walkway and ollie at the appropriate time to access it.
Graphing out the optimal route to chain these in one pass requires some practice, but it’s perfectly feasible with experience.
Secret Tape Location
The Secret Tape is hidden in a perilous spot high above the ship’s side rail. To reach it, head to the upper deck and grind the long rail that wraps along the edge of the ship. Midway through the grind, you’ll need to ollie off to a small platform connected to a communications antenna. From here, wallride and jump to a second ledge where the Secret Tape awaits. This is one of the most difficult tapes to catch in the game and it takes timing and accuracy.
Nosegrind Over the Pool
This goal is straightforward but requires clean execution. You’ll find a grindable wire or rail running directly over the pool in the center of the main deck. Approach from the side staircase or ramp, get enough speed, and ollie onto the wire while holding forward + grind to perform a Nosegrind. Be sure to land it cleanly to complete the challenge.
Rescue the Cabins
Hidden throughout the ship are five emergency alarm panels with flashing lights. The objective is to “rescue” these five cabin sections by wallriding or grinding into these panels. Each one causes a short animation of a room to open up or be put out. They’re usually found near a door or railings, so search in depth throughout all decks to find them all. Once all five have been activated, you finish the mission.
Smash the Portholes
Five circular porthole windows need to be smashed in this goal. They’re located along the walls of the mid and lower decks. To break them, wallride or ollie into each one with decent speed. You’ll usually hear a glass shatter sound to indicate success. Some are grouped closely near the engine room hallway, while others are above the poolside lounges.
Lifeboat Gap Challenge
This challenge involves clearing a huge gap from one lifeboat to another. The lifeboats are located on the uppermost sides of the ship. You’ll need to get serious speed and launch off the quarter-pipe or ramp facing the first lifeboat. Aim your jump and hold a grab trick mid-air while clearing the gap to land on the second boat. This is both a precision and style test—make sure to land smoothly.
