Fast travel in Death Stranding 2 makes it a lot easier to get around the world without spending hours walking. If you’re trying to revisit old locations or skip long treks, unlocking and using fast travel can save you tons of time and effort. In this guide, we’ll tell you how to unlock fast travel, how to use it with the DHV Magellan, and how Transponders offer a way to teleport when the usual method isn’t available.
How to Unlock the Fast Travel Using DHV Magellan
To unlock fast travel in Death Stranding, you’ll need to finish Order No. 12. It might take you around ten hours of playtime to reach this point. In this mission, Sam is sent to check out a strange tar outbreak in a part of Australia. It’s an important moment in the story, revealing major clues that move the plot forward for both Sam and the broken world he’s trying to piece back together.
How to Fast Travel Using DHV Magellan
Step inside the DHV Magellan and open your map by pressing the Options button. Then, hold down X for a few seconds until the destination menu pops up. Once fast travel is unlocked, you’ll see all the places Sam can instantly jump to. It’s super handy it saves you from walking back and forth, helps you conserve stamina, and keeps your boots from wearing out too quickly.
How to Fast Travel Using Transponders
In Death Stranding, transponders can also be used to move quickly over the map. First, a PCC Lv. 2 is required. After that, you can use the creation menu to build a transponder. When regular quick travel isn’t possible during certain periods of the main tale, this option is really helpful.
Transponders enable the creation of new locations known as “Beach Jumps” for rapid transit. However, Beach Jumps only transport Sam, in contrast to the DHV Magellan, which allows Sam to bring his belongings and even cars. The transponder you utilised stores any equipment you are carrying.
How to Fast Travel Using Hot Springs
In Death Stranding 2, you can fast travel between two hot springs after you interact with the bucket found at the hot spring near the Motherhood area. This type of travel also uses the Beach Jump system, just like with Transponders. But keep in mind when using this method, Sam can’t take any cargo with him. Anything you’re carrying will be left behind during the jump.
