How To Get Complex Machinery in Dune: Awakening

Do you wish to acquire Complex Machinery in Dune: Awakening? You need this resource for crafting vehicles and mechanical parts, and players cannot create this resource. The easiest way to obtain Complex Machinery is to loot it in a few select places and this guide will help you locate these places with ease so read along!

    How to Get Complex Machinary

Complex Machinery is a critical component of Dune: Awakening, because it is used to build all varieties of complex things like stations and machinery. It is necessary for progressing in your tech tree, and one of those resources that you will want to find a lot of.

Finding Complex Machinery seems difficult, but there are definitely some good places that will help you find it.

Note: Players cannot craft Complex Machinery; you can only find it by looting from locations around the expansive world of Dune: Awakening.

Here are the best places to look for Complex Machinery

Small Ore Refineries and Fabricators at POIs controlled by NPCs are great sources for looting Complex Machinery. You’ll find these crafting stations in a variety of locations, so keep an eye out.

    Key POI Types:

    • Ironworks in Vermillius Gap
    • Imperial Testing Stations
    • Large NPC camps

Among these, Vermillius Gap is a prime location for gathering Complex Machinery. It’s home to all three types of POIs, so it’s a great spot to plan a route. You can take your Sandbike and zip between the Ironworks and Testing Stations. Inside these areas, make sure to explore every corner, as many ruined crafting stations contain Complex Machinery.

If you want the most loot, Imperial Testing Stations are the places to look. These typically have several ruined crafting stations and a decent number of enemies to kill. They’re a good spot for finding not only Complex Machinery but other pieces you may need.

Additionally, if raiding isn’t your thing, you can buy Complex Machinery from the merchant at The Anvil, but it’ll set you back 500 Solaris per piece.

    What’s Complex Machinery Used For?

This type of item is primarily used for making parts for vehicles and machinery. If you are building Sandbikes, Buggies, or Ornithopter engines, you will be making ample use of Complex Machinery.  Since vehicle parts have a shelf-life, it is wise to reserve some to replace your used parts when they wear out.

If you want Complex Machinery (and other useful resources) quickly then raiding an Imperial Testing station is the best bet for you. These areas have Containers that often have Particle Capacitors, which are essential for vehicle parts, PSUs, and even personal equipment, such as Suspensor Belts and Holtzman Shields.

In summary, you need to farm certain POIs, and develop a stock of Complex Machinery during your game.
