Aluminum is one of the key resources you will need as you progress through Dune Awakening, especially when it comes to crafting higher-tier equipment. In this guide, we will walk you through where to find Aluminum, what tools you need to mine it, how to refine it into Ingots, and how to prepare for long-term production.

If you are looking to collect Aluminum in Dune Awakening, head over to Vermillius Gap, specifically near the Eastern Shield Wall. The valleys in that area are rich in Aluminum Ore, so you will find plenty to mine. For crafting Aluminum Ingots, though, you will want to make your way to Jabal Eifrit.
Essential Gear for Mining Aluminum
Before you start mining, make sure you have the right gear. You will need a Cutterray Mk3 to mine Aluminum Ore, and to keep it powered efficiently, you will also need a Power Pack Mk3. It’s also a good idea to have a Suspensor Belt equipped, it makes it way easier to explore and climb tough terrain.
On top of the tall spires in the marked area, you will usually find a few Aluminum Ore nodes. Each one gives about 40 units of ore with the Cutterray Mk3. If you want to increase that amount, you will need to upgrade to a better Cutterray. Ore nodes respawn after a certain time, so you’ll never completely run out.
How to make Aluminum Ingots
To make aluminium Ingots, you will need 7 Aluminum Ore and 200 units of Water for each Ingot. You can use a Medium Ore Refinery for it.
The Medium Refinery itself also requires 125 Steel Ingots and 60 Cobalt Paste to build. Because Water is needed in large amounts, both for refining and crafting gear, it’s smart to set up a good water collection system early on. If you are near a big NPC camp, you can collect blood for purification. But if you’d rather automate things, build a few Windtraps at your base to gather water passively.
