The Crooked Trail is a quest in Tainted Grail that starts off as a simple favor but turns into something much more surprising. In this guide, you will find all the steps you need to complete it. You will begin by helping a man named Rowan search for something important to him, but as you go deeper, you will uncover a hidden secret you didn’t see coming. Follow the guide below to make sure you don’t miss anything.
The Crooked Trail Quest
To begin your journey, you will need to find a character named Rowan. He will tell you he’s searching for a small family heirloom, something that means a lot to him because it is his last link to his loved ones. He also recalls hearing some guards mention a nearby camp, and suggests you start looking there. You can find Rowan in West Cuanacht, standing, repairing his cart. Just check the map above for his exact location.
Find the Secret Letter

Next, head over to the tent marked on the map above. Look beside the tent. Search through the crates and you will find a secret letter above the crates. Below is the secret letter:
“SAP-STAINED LETTER
Got another one coming your way. Shouldn’t be much trouble – eager type, thinks he’s doing some good. Told him about the “deserters” stealing from camps, should walk right in.
Same deal as before. Take what’s worth taking, dump the rest where no one will look.
And don’t botch it this time. That last fool nearly crawled back. If he makes it out alive, he’ll start asking questions, and I’m not in the mood to run.
My share better be ready when I stop by. No tricks this time or I’ll make sure your Kamelotian friends pay you a visit.

When you read the secret letter, you will find that Roman has been lying to you. The secret letter reveals he has tricked other adventurers before, leading them into danger just to steal from them, and you were his next victim. After knowing the truth, go back to him to and confront. Call him out on his lies, and you will earn 1400 XP. That is where your quest ends.
