No Chains, No Destiny Achievement in Tainted Grail

This is one of the secret achievements in Tainted Grail, and it’s called “No Chains, No Destiny.” To unlock it, you need to do something that goes against the usual story path: you must kill Caradoc while you’re on Asylum Island. Normally, Caradoc is an important part of the main storyline, and most players choose to keep him alive and follow the story with him. But for this achievement, you’ll need to take him out early instead.

Caradoc can be a real challenge, but with the right strategy and tools, you can take him down without too much trouble. Caradoc hits hard and can knock you off the boat you’ll be fighting on. So, be sure to save your game before you start the fight.

Items Required to Kill Caradoc

You’ll need to use a combination of spells, ranged attacks, and melee combat to bring him down. The spells are especially useful for dealing damage early on, and once you’re low on mana, you can switch to your bow.

  • Spells: Burning Ember and Blood Transfusion
  • A Bow and Arrows
  • A Melee Weapon

If you haven’t picked up Burning Ember and Blood Transfusion yet, you can find them while exploring the Asylum.

How to Kill Caradoc On Asylum Island

To make sure Caradoc fights you up close, you need to start the fight by hitting him with a melee weapon. If you shoot him with a ranged weapon first, he’ll switch to ranged mode and start using his bow and that can result in death for you.

  • Once he’s in melee mode, position yourself at the edge of the boat. Be careful Caradoc can easily knock you off if you’re not paying attention.
  • When Caradoc is in place, hit him with the Burning Ember spell. This sets him on fire and causes him to lose HP quickly over time.
  • While he’s burning, switch to your bow and aim for headshots. You’ll need to decrease his health while waiting for your mana to regenerate.
  • If you see him trying to heal, keep the damage coming. As long as he’s burning, he can’t heal so it’s important to time your spell well.
  • Once your mana is back, cast Burning Ember again to keep him from healing.
  • Eventually, Caradoc will fall to the ground. At that point, you’ll be able to execute him.

Rewards

Following are the rewards you will get after killing Caradoc:

  • Caradoc’s gear and equipment
  • The ability to progress the story without him (even though he’s usually a major character)

You might not be able to use all of his gear right away. Some of it requires higher endurance and other stats.
