The “A Restart” quest in Once Human is a narrative quest that becomes accessible a little later on in the game. In this quest, you’ll be joining forces with Denzel to get an old chemical plant back in action. This guide will take you through each step so you know exactly what to do and where to go.
How to Start the “A Restart” Quest
To begin this quest, head over to Myers Market. Look for Denzel Lambert, who should have the quest for you. If you don’t see him right away or the quest isn’t available, you might need to complete a prior task for him in the Broken Delta region. He may have needed resources earlier, so be sure you’ve helped him out before. Once you speak to Denzel, he’ll ask for your help restarting production at the Southerland Chemical Plant, which used to manufacture fertilizer.
Meet Up with Denzel at the Chemical Plant
After accepting the quest, head toward the Southerland Chemical Plant. Once you arrive, meet up with Denzel and the crew.
He’ll ask you to help clear out some threats before production can resume. Your first task is to take out 5 Deviants around the area. This part is straightforward. Just look around the plant and deal with any enemies you see. Once you’ve cleared the area, report back to Denzel.
Restart the Generator
Denzel now wants you to get power back to the plant. Head north of the chemical plant to find the distribution box. There might be an elite enemy nearby, but unless you cross paths, you can likely avoid combat.
Once you reach the box:
- Interact with it.
- Press the necessary buttons.
- The generator will be restarted.
Start the Factory Production Line
Next up, head to the main factory building (blue building). Make your way to the control room on the second floor and look for the control board.
After some time, Denzel tells you that the team was attacked, and someone named Emi ran off to the office building north of the plant. Head over there, and go up to the second floor, where you’ll find a purple smoke bomb, a clue that Emi is nearby. Find her, speak to her, and she’ll confirm that she’s hurt but can still run. Escort her safely back to Myers Market.
Rewards
Back at Myers Market, Denzel will thank you for everything, confirm everyone is safe.
Completing the “A Restart” quest is recommended for players around level 14 and offers some decent mid-game rewards. You’ll earn 220 Energy Links, 550 XP, 7 Stiller Planula, and an Eclipse Cortex (Level 2) for your efforts. Denzel also mentions providing some ammo as part of the reward, but don’t be surprised if it never actually shows up in your inventory, it seems to be more of an empty promise than a guaranteed item.
