Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 Notes

The much anticipated and final content patch, which ends this chapter for Larian and, in a sense, marks the end of the long journey in BG3, is here. One of the key highlights of the patch is the inclusion of modding. Once the patch rolls, third-party modders can begin modding the game, making it even better. There is also an evil ending with a new cinematic for the game. The patch brings a wide range of changes and fixes. You can read the full patch notes below.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Patch 7 Highlights and Patch Notes

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Improved split-screen gameplay
  • Launching ‘Evil Endings’: New Cinematic Endings for Villainous Runs
  • We’ve added a Mod Manager to our game, allowing you to discover, install, and enjoy community-created mods easily.
  • When characters get close, their screens will merge into one, and when they move apart, they’ll split again.
  •  Along with this new feature, we’ve made several other improvements to enhance the overall split-screen experience.

Honour Mode Combat

  • Malus Thorm can now use a special move called Grasping Appendage.
  • If Dror Ragzlin gets trapped in the spider pit, he might try to charm the spiders with a spell called Arachnid Compulsion, making them his allies against you.
  • Ch’r’ai Tska’an is the leader of the githyanki ambush in Act II, and he has a new legendary action called Soul Sacrifice.
  • The Bulette now has a special ability called Diamond Scales and can use a powerful attack called Shredding Scales.
  • Ptaris’s can now use a new devastating ability known as Ptarian Dogma.
  • Spectators can now use the Panicked Sentinel aura and Ocular Nightmare spell.
  • Ch’r’ai Har’rak is the leader of the githyanki at the Knights of the Shield Hideout. He has a powerful attack called Tu’narath’s Embrace.

UI

  • We’ve added a new equipment options menu to the character sheet on controllers, making it easier to manage your gear.
  • We’ve made it easier to manage your reactions. Now, you can just select the ones you want to use and confirm, instead of having to decline unwanted reactions one by one.
  • When you open the panel to donate magic items to Gale, you’ll now see items from your Traveller’s Chest and know which ones are currently equipped.
  • We’ve changed the action for washing yourself with soap and sponges from ‘Consume’ to ‘Use’ to avoid any confusion.
  • We’ve fixed a bug that was causing your player character’s name to be reset to ‘Custom’ if you edited your Dream Guardian before finishing your character creation.
  • We’ve reorganized the video settings to make them easier to understand and use. You can now adjust the upscaling type, mode, and sharpness, and see the immediate effects on your gameplay.
  • We’ve fixed a bug that was displaying the wrong spell ability when you were choosing a Feat during Level Up.
  • When you open the panel to donate magic items to Gale, you’ll now see items from your Traveller’s Chest and know which ones are currently equipped.

Art

  • We’ve fixed a missing part of the Adamantine Splint Armor for female dwarves.
  • We’ve fixed a problem where the Adamantine Scale Mail looked incorrect on large male characters
  • We’ve added a new loading screen in Act III that shows the bustling streets of Baldur’s Gate.

Gameplay

  • The Gondians will send a friendly Steel Watcher to help you in the final battle. Zanner Toobin apologizes for the delay in their assistance.
  • You can now play Custom Mode with Honour Mode rules by selecting it from the ‘Ruleset’ dropdown when starting a new game.
  • Overhead dialogues can now include characters controlled by different players.
  • Summons that aren’t linked to your party will no longer be affected by your Group Hide ability.
  • Shar didn’t like it when players were skipping the Leap of Faith trial, so we’ve made it harder to cheat. You’ll have to actually jump now.
  • When you choose camp supplies for a Long Rest, the game will now only take the necessary amount from stacked items.
  • The kuo-toa who promised to help you with an army will fight alongside you in the final battle, unless they died earlier in the game.
  • You can now change your eyebrow color even after choosing a bald hairstyle in Character Creation.
  • We fixed a bug that could make Minthara disappear on the Level Up screen.
  • We fixed a bug that could prevent you from leaving Act I if you resurrected Lae’zel on the beach and then tried to continue your journey.
  • We fixed a problem in some saved games where Gale had his Necrotic Aura active even though he shouldn’t have.

Animation

  • Karlach won’t touch the shaved side of her head anymore.
  • Minsc might have learned some tai chi from Boo, and you can see him practicing it at camp.
  • We’ve improved how neck kisses look in romantic scenes with Shadowheart for characters who are larger or dragonborn.
  • Astarion has more things to do at camp now than just reading. You’ll see him doing different things when he’s idle.

Writing and Flow

  • Lae’zel, even if she wasn’t the one making the decisions in the main story, can now choose her own path at the end of the game.
  • Wyll won’t automatically think you’re Lae’zel if you’re in holographic form at the end of the game.
  • We’ve added more dialogue options and voice lines to make the game feel more dynamic and responsive, especially in less common situations.
  • We’ve added more dialogue options and narrator lines for Dark Urge characters, making their experiences more engaging and immersive.
  • We fixed a problem that was stopping some romantic conversations from happening while you were exploring.
  • Wyll has a new way of greeting you in Act III if you’re in a romantic relationship with him or if you don’t like him very much.
  • Astarion’s companions should show more empathy for his fear of the sun.
  • Karlach will have a new conversation if she finds Dammon dead after he promised to help her.
  • Minthara will have a new reaction if you knock her unconscious in Act I.
  • You can now ask Wyll for a kiss in more places during the final part of his story.
