This guide will help you find and complete the first four Trials of Aql so you can continue your path through the world of Arrakis.

Trials Of AQL in Dune Awakening

The Test of Aql is a journey you can take as a player, guided by the spice and slowly learning the ways of the desert and its people.

The First Trial of Aql

After being exposed to the spice melange, you begin to have strange dreams. One vision is of a mysterious symbol of a purple eye that you’ve marked on your map. It seems to point the way to something important: a Fremen challenge known as the Trials of Aql.

The First Question

Trust your instincts and head toward the marked location to begin the first trial.

  • Find and enter the ancient cave.
  • Interact with the altar inside to start the trial.
  • Complete the challenge to move forward.

Rewards
Successfully completing the trial will earn you 100 XP and unlock several pieces of stillsuit gear:

  • Scavenger Stillsuit (Body, Boots, Gloves, Mask)
  • Kirab Stillsuit (Body, Boots, Gloves, Mask)

The Second Trial of Aql

At the site of the first trial, I discovered a riddle carved into the stone it’s the clue to finding the second trial:

“Para-southeast of the great hammer of Mirzabah… the shattered teeth of the gods… nestled between molar and incisor… a cavity revealed.”

It sounds like a strange and ancient way of describing a hidden location. When you feel ready, follow the clue to uncover the next part of the journey. The Reverend Mother believed these trials might lead us to the Fremen themselves.

The Second Question

  • Use the riddle to find the second trial site
  • Enter the area and interact with the altar
  • Complete the trial to continue your path

Rewards
You’ll earn 100 XP and unlock the Static Compactor a valuable tool for your journey.

The Third Trial of Aql

At the second trial site, I found another riddle another clue pointing the way forward:

“Para-west of the great hammer of Mirzabah… a table of stone for God’s feast… turn para-north from its bounty and seek the cave of the purple eye.”

The words seem to tell the story of a people forced to wander, guided by spirit and survival. Each trial feels like a step deeper into their history.

The Third Question

  • Use the riddle to locate the third trial
  • Once there, find the destroyed altar
  • Listen to the shigawire recording to complete this part of the journey

Rewards
You’ll gain 100 XP as you continue uncovering the deeper meaning behind the Trials of Aql.

The Fourth Trial of Aql

At the third trial site, I came across another stone carving this one points to the location of the fourth trial with another cryptic riddle:

“The iron hammer that beats the dead who cannot enter paradise. The head of the hammer awaits.”

It’s another mysterious clue, likely referring to a specific landmark. I can only hope the altar at this site is still intact so I can continue the journey and fully experience the trials of a Fremen wali once more.

The Fourth Question

  • Solve the riddle and find the fourth trial location
  • Interact with the altar and complete the challenge

Rewards
Completing this trial will grant you 100 XP and unlock the Unfixed Crysknife a sacred and powerful Fremen weapon.
