V Rising Progression Guide

When you step into the world of V Rising, you’re going to find yourself as a vampire waking from an extended slumber. A lot has happened in Vardoran while you were gone. This V Rising Progression Guide 2025 is here to walk you through everything from Act I all the way to the endgame, to help you enjoy your journey best.

Getting Started Act l

After creating your vampire, wake up from your deep slumber and start the journey. Walk through the cemetery to learn the basic controls and features of the game. After that, pick a side of the Farbane Woods where you want to spawn and enter the world of Vardoran.

First Boss Fight and Castle Building

After that, make your way to the west of Farbane Woods to the Alpha Wolf Den. With the basic controls, you should be able to defeat this basic V Blood Carrier in no time. Complete the tutorial quests for slightly more useful blueprints in your future castle.

Speaking of which, find a cool spot in Farbane Woods to build your first castle. For now, just keep it basic-a comfortable home rather than an elaborate castle (the great design can come later).

Exploring and Conquering

Now that you have a base in Vardoran, venture out and explore the map during the night. If daylight catches you while you’re still out, seek shelter to avoid taking sun damage, which will slowly drain your health.

While exploring, collect resources, loot chests, and battle enemies. When you’re ready, take on these V Blood Bosses to unlock new loot and abilities:

  • Rufus the Foreman
  • Errol the Stonebreaker
  • Keely the Frost Archer

After tackling these bosses, continue hunting down V Blood Carriers until you reach the fearsome Kodia the Ferocious Bear and Quincey the Bandit King. Although both bosses are over Level 30 and pack quite a punch, they’re still beatable with some strategy, even if you’re under-leveled. Defeating the Bandit King will mark the beginning of Act II, opening up the next chapter of your vampiric adventure in Vardoran.

New Challenges in Act II

As you enter Act II, more exploration and boss battles await. Your main goals during this phase should be crafting iron weapons and the Hollowfang armor set. Keep in mind that these items require a good amount of Iron Ore and Cotton. Aim to craft the iron weapon of your choice and complete the Hollowfang armor set before taking on more V Blood Carriers, especially as you prepare for the final boss fight of Act II with Octavian, the Militia Captain.

Expanding Your Reach

Now that you’re making progress, you can venture beyond the Farbane Woods. Head into the Dunley Farmlands to find your first human servants, as this area is packed with NPCs. To make them your servants, you’ll need to unlock the Dominate Human ability by progressing through the main quests. This opens up new possibilities for your vampire kingdom.

Back at your castle, it’s time to expand. Build additional rooms and working stations, including a prison with cells to house high-blood-quality prisoners. This way, you won’t need to constantly roam the map for fresh blood, ensuring you have a steady supply for your vampiric needs.

Facing the Militia Captain

When you’re ready, head to the Bastion of Dudley in the Dunley Farmlands to take on Octavian, the Militia Captain. This Level 58 V Blood Boss will be a tough opponent, so prepare for a challenging battle. Defeat him, and you’ll unlock the next chapter as you step into Act III.

Farming for the Dawnthorn Armor Set Act lll

Act III brings even more item farming. This time, your goal is to craft the Dawnthorn armor set, which requires 32 Silk and 48 Pristine Leather. To achieve this, you’ll also need to gather 1,000 Pristine Hide, 1,000 Mutant Grease, 64 Silkworms, and 64 Cloth. If you’re running low on Cloth, consider converting leftover Leather and Grass into more.

Defeating Angram the Purifier

To unlock the Dawnthorn armor crafting recipe, you must defeat Angram the Purifier, a Level 61 V Blood Carrier found in Gloomrot South near the Pools of Rebirth. He comes with an annoying shield, but you can easily bypass it using AoE spells, making the fight more manageable.

Preparing for the Final Battle of Act III

Once you’ve farmed the necessary materials and crafted the Dawnthorn armor set, head to the Spider Cave in the Cursed Forest to defeat Ungora the Spider Queen. This battle rewards you with the Pristine Leather recipe, or you can farm Pristine Leather by defeating stalkers, bears, and wolves in Western Gloomrot.

After you’ve gathered all the required resources and completed your armor set, make sure you’ve built the necessary workstations. With everything in place, travel to the Cursed Village in the Cursed Forest to take on Cyril the Cursed Smith, a Level 65 V Blood Carrier. Defeat him to progress into Act IV.

Building Up Your Castle and Resources Act lV

In the final act of V Rising, your vampire’s journey isn’t over just yet. Take this opportunity to improve your castles and gather as many resources as possible. Keep hunting V Blood Carriers like Jade the Vampire Hunter to unlock the Advanced Blood Press recipe and target Vampire Hunters for crafting Exquisite Hearts and Greater Blood Essences.

Boss Fights and Crafting Essentials

At this point, it’s time to take down some key V Blood Bosses, starting with Grethel the Glassblower. She’s only Level 50, so this fight should be a breeze. Defeating her grants the Glass crafting recipe, which is crucial for creating Radium Alloy and healing potions.

In addition, focus on these important objectives in Act IV:

  • Craft Dark Silver weapons
  • Craft the Blood Merlot Amulet after defeating Baron du Bouchon the Sommelier
  • Research and craft the Dawnthorn armor set at the Athenaeum
  • Upgrade Dark Silver weapons to their Sanguine counterparts

The Final Challenge

After completing your preparations and crafting essential items, it’s time to hunt down any remaining V Blood Bosses you may have missed, like Gorecrusher the Behemoth and Simon Belmont the Vampire Hunter from the Legacy of Castlevania update. When you’re truly ready, head to the Ruins of Mortium for the ultimate showdown with Dracula the Immortal King in what could be the final battle of your V Rising adventure.

Enjoying Your Vampiric Life

Defeating Dracula marks the beginning of your true vampiric reign in Vardoran, not the end. At this point, you’ll be strong enough to wipe out nearly any enemy who dares to challenge your power. Use this time to build your dream castle, or head into the new Oakveil Woodlands biome to take on its hostile creatures, including the V Blood Carrier Megara the Serpent Queen.

Endgame Activities

The endgame in V Rising offers plenty of ways to keep the adventure going. You can:

  • Start a new server and take on Brutal difficulty for a tougher challenge.
  • Min-max your gear to become the ultimate vampire in Vardoran.
  • Customize your vampire with cosmetics to show off your style.
  • Enable PvP on your server to challenge other players.
  • Aim for all achievements to complete your journey in the game.
