Opal, Sapphire, Red Topaz, and Jade Locations in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

Gemstones are some of the rarest resources you can gather. But finding them is difficult. Each Gemstone is tied to a specific type of ore and location. In this guide, we’ll walk you through where to find each gemstone, how to prepare for mining, and the best strategies to increase your gem drop rate.

All Gemstones

You can find rare Gemstones by mining specific types of Ore Nodes. While you can use a Pickaxe, you’ll have a much better chance of getting a Gem if you blow up the ore with the Rocksplosion spell instead. Each Gemstone is mined from a certain type of ore and location.

  • Opal – Found in Tin and Copper ores around the Fractured Plains.
  • Sapphire – Hidden in Gold ore deposits in Bloodblight Swamp.
  • Red Topaz – Can drop from Silver nodes in Bloodblight Swamp.
  • Jade – Look for it in Iron ore veins up in the Stormtouched Highlands.

Opal Location in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

Opal has a chance to drop when you’re mining Stone, Tin, or Copper. You need to head to the Fractured Plains, where these ores are most common. Before you go, make sure you’re equipped properly. You’ll need at least a Bone Pickaxe to mine Tin and Copper, since lower-tier tools like the Stone Pickaxe just won’t work.

Using mining abilities can really speed things up. Try combining Detect Ore with Opal selected it’ll help you track down the right nodes faster. And don’t forget the Rocksplosion spell blasting multiple ore nodes at once and increasing your chances of finding Opal. Once you hit Level 16 Mining, be sure to unlock the Gem Prospector skill. It gives you an extra shot at scoring gems like Opal while you’re mining.

If you’re hunting for Sapphire, you’ll have to mine Gold Ore it’s the only ore that can drop Sapphire as a secondary reward. You’ll find these gold deposits exclusively in the Bloodblight Swamp, located on the eastern edge of the map.

The Bloodblight Swamp has tough enemies and poisonous clouds. To survive, bring Weak Antipoison Potions and Bittercap Mushrooms. Since Sapphire has a very low drop rate so mine for a while. You can use the Rocksplosion spell as well. It increases your chances of finding a gem.
